The Golden Girls – Cardinal – 300 pieces
I love the cartoon style of this image, and found this at the thrift store just a few days before the death of the last surviving Golden Girl – Betty White; she was a comedic force to be reckoned with, and a classy lady all around.
This puzzle was unopened, and I was hoping that it would be good quality, but I was sadly disappointed. The pieces were on the thin side and slightly bent out of shape, but it was the extremely loose fit that made it so terrible to work with. Cardinal Puzzles can be hit or miss with their quality, and this was a big miss.
I wish I’d been able to enjoy this puzzle as much as I enjoyed Betty White’s hilarious performance in the silly horror movie Lake Placid – that movie makes me laugh every time I see it, and her potty-mouthed character was awesome!
Sadly, this puzzle didn’t measure up.
I see Cardinal puzzles frequently at the dollar store and I know what I’m in for with the loose fit but I still enjoy them. Now if they were $20 I might feel differently!
By the way, I finished that 1950s puzzle you turned me on to and I absolutely loved it! That also had a loose fit but the clear, sharp, fun images made up for it.

I’ve never thought to check the “dollar store” for jigsaw puzzles. Do you go to Dollar General, Family Dollar, or Dollar General. I think those are the three big “dollar” store chains… Not sure if each of those chains has a location in my town. Are other brands besides Cardinal sold at your dollar store? And what is the piece-count and price typically for Cardinal or other brands sold there?

Amazing coincidence, I actually started watching Golden Girls on Disney+ yesterday! Too bad about the puzzle quality.

I haven’t seen The Golden Girls in forever, hope you’re enjoying it!

I am, although the opening scene where Dorothy is complaining about (female) students with shaved heads and noserings has not aged well… It got better after that.

It surprises me how some things seem ageless and others are super cringe-worthy.
I loved my shaved head! (I shaved off all my hair in 2016, looked like Sigourney Weaver in Aliens) It’s so easy to take care of and I think it looked great!

I also shaved my head, that was about 20 years ago! In fact, we had a party at my palce and did some fun haircuts before it all came off! The party was fun, and I also loved the shaved head. Since I was wearing round glasses at the time, I looked more like Gandhi, nowhere near as cool as Sigourney Weaver 🙂

I guess that’s something else we have in common. LOL
When I decided to stop dying my hair to cover the grays I just shaved it all off to about 1/4 inch. I absolutely loved it!

I only stopped dying in 2020. Seemed really pointless when I was just sitting at home. Anyway, I really like the grey now. It looked awful in the beginning when it was just partly grey.

I started going gray 16, and my pride kept me coloring for what seemed like forever. In 2016 I’d had enough and just cut it all off. I’m about 90% gray (I’m in my early 50s). I used to care, but who gives a crap what other people think – if you ask me, I’m rocking the gray hair! 😎

I was never a huge fan of the Golden Girl show, I didn’t love it, didn’t hate it, just didn’t have an interest in watching it. I don’t know if it was hugely popular when it aired but it seems to be thriving now in syndication/re-runs.

I did watch it sometimes, but wasn’t a die-hard regular viewer. Betty White’s Rose Nylund was hilarious though.
