I know, not a great picture, lots of glare. But it does have the entire puzzle in the picture, which has not always been the case. 🙂

This section is going relatively quickly. I seem to have to take more breaks this week, but when I am able to sit down and work on it, it’s going well. I got as much of the light brown done as I can for the moment, and I just sorted a bunch of the white foam. I hope to be able to get a bit of the waves/foam done on the right side of the puzzle tomorrow.

I’m not sure if it’s going to continue to go well, or if it’s going to slow down and take more time. I look at the pieces that are left, and they’re all kind of similar and I have no idea where to go next. But I’m going to just keep plugging away, I will get there eventually.

I didn’t add onto the twinklies today, even though I have a bit more to add if I can find where they go. I mainly worked on Mickey, and once he was done I did part of the stone he is standing on and the stairs beside him. It doesn’t look like much, but it’s a start.

I was surprised I had pulled almost all of the pieces for Mickey except for his hat and three missing pieces from his hands.  I didn’t think I’d have that many! Assembling him went very quickly this morning and then I worked here and there throughout the day with the light blue of the rock and the dark and light browns of the stairs.

Putting together Mickey actually had me looking forward to the next 3 sections, because there are large characters and blocks of color that will be fun to assemble – like Mickey was this morning! All I have to do now is get through this section. Lots of sprays of water, foam, and swirls of magic. I can do it!

Not bad! Although I have to tell you that I cheated a little bit. I couldn’t sleep much last night, so I was up late working on the puzzle after I had already posted. Whatever, there are no rules here, it’s puzzle anarchy!!

I was more careful this time about sorting the twinklies, and as you can see I have much more of them done than on the Little Mermaid section. I still have some left over! There’s something nice about having a frame around the puzzle, it’s soothing to my OCD I think. I’ve always done puzzles by doing the edge first and so I feel better having an “edge”.

Tomorrow I’ll work on Mickey, but that won’t take too long because I don’t have very many pieces for him sorted. I’m not sure if I’ll move on to something else once I’m done with those or if I’ll sift through some containers of pieces looking for ones I missed the first time. Depends. Tune in tomorrow to find out!

Can You See What I See?

Can You See What I See (I Spy) – Ceaco – 1000 pieces

Although I didn’t care much for the quality of this puzzle, the image was quite a challenge. An I Spy puzzle with randomness everywhere!

For some insane reason I decided that I was going to assemble this puzzle without the aid of looking at the picture on the box.  I have no idea why I did that, but I did!  Hubby helped me a lot with this puzzle and it took us 4 or 5 nights to get it done. It would have been much easier and taken much less time if I had used the box for reference, but I was stubborn and wanted to do it all with no help.

It took much longer than normal for a 1000 piece puzzle, but the extra challenge of having no reference made it feel like a real accomplishment when it was finished.

Give yourself a challenge every once in a while, it’s fun and you have no idea how proud you’ll be once you’ve accomplished it!

Got the twinkly sides done. Working only on the sides made it so that I was able to take a small part of the puzzle in my bed on a tray and work on it that way instead of having to sit in a chair or stand at the puzzle table. Once I was out of room on the tray I could bring it in the puzzle room, attach most of it, and then continue working. It’s nice when I’m not feeling well enough to sit or stand, but quite the challenge when 3 dogs are vying for attention. There was some initial interest in messing with the pieces, but they were content to just lay with me after a while. Good pups!

Not sure how much I’ll be able to do tomorrow. I have an appointment in the afternoon, and it’s an hour and a half away. Ugh. Driving or riding in a car isn’t fun for me either. I’ll try to work on it in the morning before we leave, but I’m not sure how I’ll feel after 3 hours in the car. If only the puzzle were portable! 🙂

Anyway, even with the appointment I’m hoping I’ll be able to mostly finish with the twinklies tomorrow. It looks so much better when it has a frame around it, just my opinion of course. Then I guess I’ll work on Mickey. I know I don’t have all the pieces pulled though; the white of his gloves and the blue of his hat didn’t really stand out much from the other white and blue in the puzzle (at least not the first time though).  I know I have some, but definitely not all. It’ll be interesting to see how much I’ll be able to assemble!
