More general filling in today. Nothing to write home about.  Making progress a little at a time, but still enjoying myself.

Basically what I am now left with is all green.  Shades of green.  Lots and lots of green. That’s ok though, I knew what I was getting into. I can’t really say specifically what I’m doing next, other than it’ll be green – filling in where I can.

I’m only a week or so away from being halfway finished with this puzzle! I can’t believe it! And I thought it would be taking me more time, so I still haven’t figured out what in the world I’m going to do with it once it’s finished. Anyone have any suggestions? I don’t have a wall big enough to display it. Should I start a go fund me page for a new house with enough wall space to hang the giant puzzle on?  Probably not. 😐

Just over 2000 pieces assembled, halfway there!

Bagheera and the branch he is on is now connected to the rest of the puzzle.  It’s starting to take shape and is looking good!

Got the lightest background color mostly done along with some greenery from the tree. I also was able to pick out some of the water and get that partially filled in under Baloo. Still having a good time working on it, but I haven’t been able to work on it for more than a few minutes at a time lately.  Even less time than usual. There’s been way more resting than working these days.

Hubby had lots of running errands to do today, so he was mostly out of my hair and out of my way, but of course he had something loud and obnoxious to do in the golf/puzzle room later in the day. Did he wait until I left the room to rest? No! He waited until I came back in the room and then decided it would be the perfect time to make noise and get in the way. 😡

A Christmas Story

A Christmas Story – Ceaco – 750 pieces

We love A Christmas Story here at our house, so this was a fun assembly even though it wasn’t the best quality puzzle.  Ralphie and the gang are always welcome here!

Normally Ceaco puzzles are not my cup of tea. We have found several Ceaco puzzles that were apart from the norm with very good quality.  One was backed with thick corkboard and had a lot of whimsies, which was super fun and an excellent buy at the thrift store for 99 cents! We also found a Ceaco puzzle backed with red velvet!

This puzzle, however, was a run of the mill Ceaco. The pieces were on the thin side and the image was quite shiny and difficult to work under lights at night. A majority of the puzzle is the dark green Christmas tree, and the gloss on the pieces made it difficult to distinguish shades and and shapes when working at night. It was a random cut puzzle, which did make it more interesting to assemble, so that was a plus.

All in all, our love for the movie outweighed the quality of the puzzle, and we still enjoyed the assembly. “You should see how it looks from out here!” 😉

Lots of good progress today.  The rock is mostly finished, and I got started on the long tree branch that Bagheera is standing on. I was even able to attach one of the flowers to it! I always feel good about being able to attach sections together. Imagine how excited I will be when I’m finished and able to attach all 10 sections together!!!

I’ll work more on the large branch tomorrow, and after that I have no idea where I’ll go next. Usually something jumps out at me.

Hubby will be home most of the day tomorrow.  I don’t know if that means he’ll want to help me with the puzzle, or if he’ll be in my way or asking where things are, etc. Hopefully he’ll either be out of the house, or vegging in front of the tv. Just so he’s out of my way and out of my hair!

My puzzle is set up in his golf room where he keeps everything golf related and where he works on golf clubs as a small side job. So most likely he’ll be working on golf clubs for someone and constantly in my way. I have to remember that I love him when he’s in there making noise and generally being annoying. 😉

Looks like I’ve got the bare necessities of the characters done 😉 Mowgli, Baloo and Bagheera are mostly finished, just a few pieces needed here or there.

I started on the large rock, and boy is that going to be fun. Close up the pieces just look mottled and it is sometimes difficult to recognize the correct piece because the colors change abruptly at some points, even within the light shades. But if it were super easy, I don’t think it would be as much fun.

More work on the rock tomorrow, I don’t know if I’ll be able to get it done but I’m going to try! After the rock, it’s pretty much going to be shades of green for the rest of the puzzle. Just like Peter Pan was all shades of blue after the characters were complete. I got through Peter Pan, and I can definitely get through The Jungle Book!
