Authors – Re-marks – 1000 pieces
The current Re-marks puzzle I’m working on is very good quality and much more entertaining than the last few puzzles I’ve done – what a relief! I was starting to think that perhaps I should give puzzles a rest for a while.
I haven’t done well in choosing which ones to assemble this month and out of the five puzzles I’ve done so far only one of them was truly enjoyable. I need to stop picking puzzles based on what I think I need for the blog and start choosing ones I actually want to do in the moment (which seems to be easier said than done for me).
Of course it really isn’t the puzzles, it’s me and the state of my mind and body. I’m feeling awful and having to take all my pain meds all day, which makes me feel groggy and stupid – not the best for sitting at the puzzle table. And of course there’s the anxiety and depression, it doesn’t help matters at all. Having mental health issues along with physical health problems just plain ol’ sucks.
I’ll just keep plugging away, even though my puzzling has slowed down quite a bit. What’s the old expression? Fake it till you make it.

It is awesome that you post every single day about puzzles, but maybe you are putting too much pressure on yourself with these daily posts. Or as you just said, putting your blog’s feelings first before your own 😉 Pick the puzzles that make you happy and don’t worry about anything else.
I actually didn’t do a puzzle for nearly a week and when I sat back down at my puzzle table with a puzzle, I had (and continue to have since I’m still working on that same puzzle) so much fun. I think that little break was a good thing for me.
That author stamp puzzle looks really cool, hopefully it’s a better challenge than their book cover puzzles.
I’m really sorry to hear that you are experiencing a difficult trying time right now with your mental and physical health. I don’t know if you are a religious person, but if you lean on the Lord, he will walk through this with you and be by your side.

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words.
I know I put pressure on myself about the blog, but it does help me to have puzzles to do, posts to write, and a puzzle posse to talk to. I’m just trying to find the balance.

Oh I totally get it. In addition to an absorbing good book, I need puzzles to do. Both bring me joy and a sense of calm and both help me with my anxiety. I hope you can find a balance with the blog. Maybe just try posting 2 or 3 times a week between puzzle write-ups, photos of recent puzzle shopping sprees, or what’s on your board. Or like Penny said below, just take a complete blog break for as long as you need. Please don’t let your blog stress you out — your blog is a very nice place to visit 😊

This one is adorable….and as hurrayforpuzzles said…take a little break if you need it. Come back in a few days to a week or so and feel refreshed.

You should absolutely just do the puzzles you want. I stopped posting to a schedule because it was affecting what puzzles I chose to do, and not in a good way. Hope you feel better soon!
