Yesterday was an awful day, and I didn’t even get started on this one until last night. I made a bit of progress before I ended up going to bed though, it’s looking pretty good!
Quilts are a funny thing, there are many fabrics that I wouldn’t touch with a 10-foot pole, but you put them into a quilt and they look perfectly normal. Great even! Does anyone else feel that way?
As I was laying out the pieces and looking at some of the patterns and colors, I thought to myself “That is the ugliest fabric!”, and “Ugh, that is a hideous color.”. But you put them together with other fabrics and they seem to make sense, and even become part of a beautiful pattern.
Oh well, I suppose beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. 😍
Although I haven’t made a quilt in several years I still enjoy the colorful fabrics. You really accomplished a lot in that short time! I have this same puzzle in my to-do stash. We could have a race but by the time i completed the frame, you would have the whole thing done!!! 😉

It’s done already Deb, no racing this time. Maybe next time. 🙂

I always thought I would love to make a quilt, but never did. I still love looking at quilts at the county and state fairs! Unfortunately, there won’t be any fairs this summer. Next year should be glorious with 2 years to prepare!
I hope you are feeling better soon!

Thanks Sandra. I love looking at quilts too, I’m amazed at how they seem to pick out the perfect fabrics to make such beautiful patterns.

Maybe I should do this puzzle, might have a better chance of finishing it than I have with the quilt I started 35 years ago!
