What’s Next?

I haven’t touched a puzzle in more than two days, it seems as if I’m in another funk. When I get like this every puzzle I look at just doesn’t excite me and I can’t seem to make a decision; it isn’t the puzzles really, it’s just the blahs. Stacey has a bit of a ‘tude today I’m sorry to tell you.

Perhaps just letting my puzzle friends know I’m in a funk and haven’t been puzzling is all I need to get myself back into the swing of things. I have PADS, and the predominant emotion today is unmotivated.

Save The Whales In Progress

Whales IP

I didn’t have much time yesterday when I was actually able to sit at the puzzle table, but I was determined to get this puzzle going – I’m so glad I did!

This image by Robert Williams (the Bob in Mr. Bob Puzzles) is the one that I was drawn to immediately when looking through their catalog of images. I love color and more modern artwork and this image is exactly my cup of tea, or pile of pieces as it were.

Save The Whales

After delaying gratification by assembling 100 Aussie Icons first (which was completely entertaining), it was nice to finally dive into Save The Whales. There was the obligatory sorting, turning over all the pieces, finding the whimsies and taking pictures – and then I was finally able to begin!

Unfortunately the time ran out on me and I wasn’t able to sit and puzzle for very long, but I am in love with this image and am having an awesome time with it already. There are still many more pieces to put together, and I’m looking forward to every single one. 💝

Wasgij? 20th Anniversary in progress

Now don’t think I’m spoiling anything – I would never! This is actually a puzzle of the box image for the Wasgij? 20th Anniversary puzzle; the box comes with this bonus puzzle of the box image as well as the mystery puzzle from a character’s perspective. I haven’t assembled the mystery yet, but I’m having a great time with this bonus puzzle. 🙂

It shouldn’t be too long now until it’s done, it all depends on how I’m feeling. It’s been a rough couple of days, so this one is taking me a little longer than normal for a 1000 piece puzzle. No worries – it’s all about the journey, not about the speed.

Have a great weekend puzzling my friends!

Today’s Project

Mr. Bob

Yesterday I received these two puzzles to review, I’m very excited to get to assembling today. The image I chose was Save the Whales, and I was surprised to find when I opened the package that I had not one but two puzzles!

Mr. Bob Puzzles are manufactured in Australia, and they have recently switched over from making cardboard puzzles to making wooden ones. I’m so appreciative that I’m able to assemble and review these puzzles, and my initial impression is very positive. The pieces are quite large and thick and the image is beautiful. The puzzles come in cloth bags, and each one has a “tag” to tell you which puzzle is inside…

I adore the Save The Whales image, and even though that was the one I chose for review I’m starting with the 100 Aussie Icons. I’m saving the whales for last – to build excitement perhaps. They both look like they’re going to be lots of fun, I don’t think it matters which one goes first.

When I poured out all the pieces I was shocked at how large the pile was, and it had me going through my other wooden puzzles to find another 500 piece to compare it to. This is a 500 piece Wentworth next to the 515 piece Mr. Bob puzzle…

Mr. Bob 3

The Wentworth is on the left, Mr. Bob on the right; there’s quite a difference in size! I’m so looking forward to going through all the pieces, looking at all the shapes and sizes and finding the whimsies. Being an American I’m certain I’ll need help identifying all the Aussie icons, but it’ll be fun even if I don’t know what they are; the image looks very entertaining!

My Poor Old Eyes

I think it may be time to get some new glasses. I started a new puzzle yesterday, but had to stop because my poor aging eyes just couldn’t handle it. The pieces are miniature, all the same shape (thankfully they’re not ballerinas, they’re shaped like little people), and the picture is very detailed. I just couldn’t see the intricacies of the image when two pieces connected and I had to stop.

I want very much to finish this puzzle, it’s so unique and interesting and I was really pumped to start assembling it. I’ll have to wait until I get new glasses, or I get myself a strong, lighted magnifying glass – or both. 👓+🔎

It’s a Pyramid Puzzle by D-Toys, and when it’s completed there are four sides, each with a different image. Each section is assembled in the tray, which you fold up and put on a base for display.

The edges of the tray have some of the image, perhaps so that you can be sure you’re placing the image correctly.

Pyramid 2

I didn’t know the pieces were so small when I purchased the puzzle, there was no mention at all that the pieces were so tiny. I figured the images would be fun to put together, but I can’t see the damn things!
