The Talking Jigsaw Puzzle: The Fitness Center

The Talking Jigsaw Puzzle – The Fitness Center – Buffalo Games – 560 pieces

This picture is purposely not the greatest – I never want to give away the answer to puzzles that include a solution not shown on the box; Wasgij puzzles, What If puzzles, and any others that you have to figure out by yourself. These Talking Jigsaw puzzles are both a jigsaw and a logic puzzle in one and the correct completed image isn’t shown on the box.

Each small section is four pieces, and the characters are “talking” to each other. After the edge, you start by putting together all of the small sections; once you’ve assembled each one you have to use logic to determine where they fit into the puzzle by what they’re saying to each other or other clues. Sometimes they say where they are, what is next to them, or where another section belongs. It’s not really easy to describe, you have to work it yourself to see how everything goes together.

On the back of the puzzle the word “congratulations” is written over and over in several different fonts. If you’re ever unsure about whether you’ve placed a section correctly you can check the back to see if the words line up. This would be a perfect puzzle to assemble on a glass top table, you could check the back without having to keep flipping pieces over. (Although I don’t know how easy it would be to keep checking underneath the table, especially if you’re older like me and have any physical limitations.)

I’ve done three of these Talking Jigsaw puzzles, and they are so absorbing and entertaining – I adore them! We haven’t found them all, but we’ve been lucky to come across them here and there at different thrift stores. There are still The High School, The Beach, Heartbreak Hotel, and possibly more; here’s to hopefully finding and assembling them all. 🙂

Have you ever worked a Talking Jigsaw? What did you think?

Jungle Friends

Jungle Friends – Ravensburger – 200 pieces

Even though this puzzle had 2 missing pieces it was still fun to assemble – I had a great time with it actually. 👍

Mom has quite the knack for finding awesome puzzles like this one at the thrift stores. I’m kinda missing all those awesome finds these days, she’s in the process of moving and doesn’t have time to go thrift shopping. (Besides, if she came home with more puzzles I think my dad’s head might explode – they still haven’t finished packing all the ones we already own!)

I enjoy kids puzzles very much, I’m a “grownup” but putting together a kids puzzle makes me just as happy as any adult puzzle ever could. Sometimes it’s not the puzzle, it’s the puzzling. ☺

Country Cottage by Dominic Davidson – Ravensburger -1500 pieces

Horribly photographed, but quite a fun puzzle. I long for the days when I could assemble a 1500 piece puzzle without having an anxiety attack. 😕 Great quality puzzle, and I had a great time with it. That surprised both myself and mom – at the time (2+ years ago) it wasn’t really the kind of image I enjoyed assembling.

Turns out, many times I’m completely wrong about whether or not I will enjoy a puzzle. Sometimes I see the image and think, “Oh man, that’s going to be so much fun!”. Then once I start the assembly I’m completely disappointed by it. Other times I think “Ugh, that one’s gonna suck.” and it turns out to be great fun. Seems to me I can’t trust the fickle old lady brain in my head, I should just get to assembling and let it play out.

Unfortunately the picture I took seems to be another one where I was in the process of falling over, I apologize. But I want to stand up for myself again and say that these older pictures were ones I took on my phone to text to both my mom and daughter. When any of us finish a puzzle we text a picture to each other; they’re not always the best quality. When I assembled and finished this puzzle I hadn’t yet started My Jigsaw Journal, and I had no idea that I’d end up publishing these photos. This is what it’s supposed to look like…

It’s a beauty! The puzzle was excellent quality, the image is beautiful and calming, and it was one of our better thrift store finds. You can’t beat 99 cents for a 1500 piece Ravensburger! 🤑

My daughter gave me this to assemble after she had done it, she said it was kinda tough and was pretty proud of herself for getting it done. It was a bit of a challenge, so way to go for both of us! Not great quality, but the image is fun – and how could I refuse to assemble a puzzle she gave me?

Unknown Title

Here’s another puzzle from several years ago, and I specifically remember the time frame and what was going on when I was assembling it. I don’t always remember the specific time, but I do with this puzzle – it was June of 2016. It seems odd that I don’t have the title or even the brand of the puzzle, but unfortunately I don’t have that information (even though I searched the internet for info on it). I wish I did, because this was so much fun to assemble; I’d love to be able to recommend it by name. 🙂

Even though this thrift store puzzle had two missing pieces it was so much fun! It was so long ago, and missing pieces, but I do recall that mom wanted me to keep it so she could assemble it even though it wasn’t complete. It may be hiding in the piles and piles of puzzles at mom’s house, but she’s in the process of moving, so finding it isn’t an option at the moment.

The great colors and all the wording made this puzzle both entertaining and challenging; and part of the reason mom wanted to assemble this even with missing pieces is because I enjoyed it so much. I don’t recall much about the actual quality of the puzzle, but the image is what made it so much fun to put together.

If you can find a title, artist, or manufacturer please let me know (I’m not great at finding things online, obviously). 🙂
