Kiki’s Delivery Service

Kiki’s Delivery Service – 126 pieces – Artcrystal Jigsaw?

If you’re wondering, the reason for the question mark after the brand of puzzle is because almost the entire box was written in Japanese, and the only English wording that looked like it might be a brand said Artcrystal Jigsaw. I’m hoping that’s the brand, but I can’t be certain without further information gathering – which I have to tell you I’m just feeling too lazy to do at the moment.

Worked on this with my oldest son and his girlfriend at her housewarming party at the new apartment. If you’re happy I’m finally back to puzzling you have my gently nagging puzzle buddy Penny and these two crazy kids to thank for having a small puzzle sitting on the table at the party that we could work on together. 😎

That’s my baby boy and his new girlfriend, and my hand is reaching in from the bottom left. It’s a tiny little plastic puzzle, but it’s sort of translucent, and wasn’t an easy assembly.

I think she’s planning on hanging it in one of the windows. If you ask me, it’ll be very pretty in the west window with the setting sun. ☀

Sound Off!

So who’s working on what? Tell us all what fabulous puzzle you’re working on at the moment; or let us know if you found a great puzzle or image you’ve recently purchased.

I’m hoping I’ll be feeling up to having the computer in bed, and will be replying to everyone’s comments if at all possible. We’ll have to wait and see. Every time there’s another surgery or procedure with anesthesia it takes longer and longer for me to recover from it – and it sucks.

But at least I’ve got my puzzle posse to talk to, right?

Bliss & Flowers in a Bad Vase

Bliss & Flowers in a Bad Vase by Jim Tsinganos – Mr. Bob Puzzles – 40 pieces

This beauty has been sitting in the drafts folder for quite a long time – even before I took my break. Mr. Bob sent this to me to review but asked me to wait to post until the launch of the entire line of acrylic puzzles was ready to go. It looks as if they’ve decided not to continue with this type of puzzle, so I’m posting about it anyway and just not doing a formal review of it.

This is a double-sided acrylic puzzle, twice the puzzle – twice the fun! I didn’t photograph the whimsy pieces for some reason that I cannot remember, but you can see some of them in the puzzle. The assembly was more difficult than anticipated, but still super entertaining.

If memory serves me correctly, Mr. Bob Puzzles started working on this new line of puzzles before the pandemic. Once that happened acrylic became both difficult to obtain and much more expensive. Many businesses were using it as shields for their workers, and it became very hard to get and too costly.

It’s a shame, it’s a great idea (just my opinion). You can put two different images inside and there won’t be any image lift – ever. Plus you wouldn’t have to worry about pieces breaking. But alas, these puzzles aren’t in production or available for purchase on their site. What a bummer. 😢

This is the last of the puzzles assembled in the last year or so. From now on all the puzzles I post will be from THIS year and I will definitely remember the assemblies – promise.

Sweetheart Chessmate

Sweetheart Chessmate by Charles Wysocki – 300 pieces – Buffalo

This was completed almost a year ago, so again (sorry) my memory of this assembly is completely blank. It’s adorable though and I’m sure it was thoroughly enjoyable.

Buffalo is a great brand with a lot of wonderful images to choose from. There are a very nice variety of piece shapes so the assembly isn’t too difficult or too boring. The fit on this puzzle was excellent, as usual. I love a Buffalo puzzle!

*I can tell you how the fit was because this is the last puzzle I did before my extended leave from the blog, and it sat on my puzzle board for almost an entire year before being photographed and disassembled.) An excellent quality puzzle all around.* 🧩

Such a sweet poem. Hubby and I don’t play chess together and we don’t live on Cape Cod, but we are definitely peas in a pod and enjoy each other’s company very much. We just celebrated on 35th anniversary this month. Yay for the high school sweethearts!💗

Tomorrow is my surgery, so I’m not sure how I’ll be feeling afterwards. Here’s hoping it isn’t nearly as bad as I’ve made it out to be in my anxiety-ridden mind. There are several posts written up and scheduled for the next few days. If I don’t respond to comments quickly after Tuesday, don’t be alarmed. I’ll be back, cross my heart and hope to spit! 😯💦

Happy Mother’s Day!

My gorgeous momma!

I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday, and if you celebrate Mother’s Day I hope it’s a fabulous holiday for you. As for me, hopefully I’ll be in bed being pampered by the kids and hubby – or sitting in front of my puzzle board putting together little pieces of cardboard or wood to make a pretty picture.

If you’re a mom – thank you for all the wonderful, tedious, brave, boring, gracious, heartbreaking, compassionate, caring, forgiving and loving things you do. Even if it isn’t spoken aloud to you enough (and it never is), it is always appreciated. If you’re not a mom, Happy Mother’s Day anyway!

Enjoy your day everyone; my wish for you is lots of love and peaceful puzzling.

Of course the picture above is my beautiful, loving, fantastic, silly, sweet, kind momma. She was the first and most important member of my Puzzle Posse and she loved sitting with me and talking about everything and nothing while we worked together on puzzles. I treasure every moment we had no matter what we were doing, her momma mojo was amazing and as friends we were the bestest of besties. She is so very missed – especially today. 💗
