It doesn’t seem like I got much done till I look at yesterday’s picture. All the fish are done for now, added a bit of water, filled out Eric’s hair and shirt and gave Ariel her bow.

All that’s left now is blue, shades of blue. About 1400 blue pieces. Wheee! Oh well, if I didn’t want to do it, I wouldn’t have bought the puzzle, right? I knew what I was getting myself into – so I’ll cowgirl up and get it done!

Here’s where the pattern helps out, I can see what piece I’m looking for next which narrows my search. When there’s a lot of the same color and the pieces are separated by shape, knowing which piece shape I’m looking for is quite the time saver!

Not as much progress today as yesterday, but it’s all forward movement!

3 out of the 4 fish are done or mostly done, and I got a little bit of water added. Hopefully tomorrow I will get the last fish completed and a bit more water. Eric needs the rest of his head and shirt, I need to finish the tree branch Scuttle and the frogs are on, and there are plenty of fireflies. After that, all that’s left are shades of blue. But if I could get through all that blue in the Peter Pan section I can definitely get through this one. The blues are quite a bit lighter on this section which is much easier to work with, for me at least.

Still having a great time with this puzzle. Listening to stand up comedy while I work, or if I’m in the mood for it I have the soundtracks to all these movies. Plenty of songs to sing along to! And if neither of those appeals to me, there is a LOT of 80’s music to keep me company 🙂

Candy Jars – Cobble Hill Puzzles – 1000 pieces

Although it looks difficult, the puzzle above was quite fun to assemble.  The different textures of each of the candies were easy enough to distinguish, and I found myself enjoying it much more than I thought I would. That happens to me a lot, and I don’t know why I don’t just jump in and start doing puzzles; even if I’m not sure I’m going to like it, or even if I think I might even dislike it. Cause I’m a doofus sometimes, that’s why.

I like Cobble Hill puzzles very much. The linen coating on the puzzle and on the box feels luxurious and is even helpful if you’ve got a lot of sameness. If there is a bunch of blue sky the linen on the puzzle can show you if a piece lies vertically or horizontally in the puzzle. Bonus! The pieces are randomly cut which can be more difficult to some, or more enjoyable for others. Personal preference. I’ve never had a Cobble Hill puzzle that wasn’t very good quality. They have a lot of great puzzles to choose from as well. One of the companies I never hesitate to purchase from.

Candy Jars was a fun puzzle, with just enough difficulty to be a challenge. The colors were bright and fun, and the candy made me hungry for sweets!

Connections! Flounder is connected to the boat, the flamingos are connected to the boat, and the boat is connected to Sebastian. Not too shabby!

I put a few pieces of the water in underneath the boat, that’s where I’ll be working tomorrow. Water and the fish surrounding the boat, all the while singing “Kiss The Girl” in my head. Sha la la la don’t stop now, don’t try to hide it how you wanna kiss de girl 🙂

Ariel and Eric are almost done, Sebastian and Scuttle are done, things are moving quickly! I even got the boat started. I wasn’t planning on getting that far today, but it’s trucking right along. Or perhaps I should say cruising instead, it’s more appropriate 🙂

It just looks like a regular size jigsaw puzzle, you can’t tell from the picture that it’s over 4 foot long and over 3 feet high. I keep trying to think of something to put on the board to show how big it actually is, and I draw a blank every time. I did take a picture of the first section with my husband’s longest golf club to show how large it was, but it loses something in the translation. If I were someone who liked having my picture taken I could lay down next to it to show you that I’m only 9 inches taller than the long side! But.. uh.. no one wants to see that, least of all me!!

When all 10 sections are complete it will be over 22 feet long and almost 6 1/2 feet high! That’s an enormous puzzle! It doesn’t seem so overwhelming doing it in 10 sections, but I think seeing them all attached and laid out on display will be a sight to see. Wow! And if things continue going at the same rate they have been I should be done in March sometime. I REALLY have to decide what I’m going to do with the puzzle when I’m finished! March is only 2 months away 😮
