Spent most of the day hanging out with mom at her house, so there wasn’t as much time as usual for puzzling. Started first with the purple pieces, Dopey’s hat. There weren’t many and it didn’t take much time. It’s starting to actually look like him!

Next I decided to work on the film strip which borders two sides of this section. Laid out all the pieces, oh my! Talk about intimidating!!

Spent the rest of the time piecing together what I could. It’s difficult sometimes to focus and just look specifically for one piece. As I’m searching I see a part of something else I need, and I’m off on a tangent, forgetting what I was looking for in the first place.
I must say I was pleased to find that the scenes in the film strips are extremely sharp and detailed. I wasn’t sure how big each scene would be, or how clearly it could be seen. Of course, it’s a Ravensburger puzzle – the very best quality – and my favorite brand. I shouldn’t have worried. It is a looser fit than I’m used to with Ravensburger, and the piece shapes are slightly different. This is my first large piece count puzzle from them, so I’m assuming this is the norm for an extremely large puzzle. Still excellent quality in my humble opinion. 🙂
Spent about 2 or 3 hours today on the filmstrips. Intimidating to be sure, but I’m up to the challenge. There is still plenty to go, but it’s a start. I’m thoroughly enjoying this puzzle, and plan on continuing to enjoy the experience, even if it takes me a year or more! Here’s today’s total progress.

My mom, queen of the thrift store finds, purchased a beautiful Dowdle Folk Art 300 piece puzzle a few days ago for 99 cents. I don’t normally do 300 pieces, but I love his artwork and am also looking forward to a quick puzzle and a sense of completion when it’s finished! Planning to start that one tomorrow. It’s going to be a while before I assemble all 4032 pieces in the Snow White image, so it’ll be lovely to actually finish something in the meantime. Hopefully all the pieces are there and I will post a picture when it’s complete.
Hi Stacey,
I’m going back through some of your blog postings for Disney Moments now that I have it too. 🙂 I think my approach will be very similar to yours. I imagine I will jump right into working on Snow White’s skirt and Dopey before tackling the border pieces on this one. All the clothing and the drawfs too most likely. The filmstrip looks fun and challenging. I cannot WAIT to start on this!!!!

Oh, of course there will be lots and lots of updates. I’m going to create a whole page dedicated to it on the blog. I’m seriously wanting to convert my blog to a wordpress blog, but don’t know exactly how to do everything I want. I need someone who knows it to help me out…just too expensive! LOL
If you wanted to create a new “tab” on your blog for example for something like “Puzzle Wish LIst” where you kept a list of ones you want to get, would that be easy for you to do on your own?

Absolutely easy if you ask me. There are tons of tutorials as well – my blog isn’t overly dynamic, but it’s easy to use and when I need help I can always find it. 🙂

OK that’s good to know. I’m in IT and created Puzzle Momma on blogger.com, but I know there’s a lot of things I could have done better. I am hoping it wont be too difficult to convert.

I don’t think it will be. If I can do it, pretty much anyone can. 😉
