Puppy Party by Jenny Newland – MasterPieces – 300 pieces
The puppies are having a party and they’ve invited all their friends – a good time was had by all. 😉 These sweet animal images by Jenny Newland are the perfect potion to brighten my day. The adorable faces make me smile, and we could all use more smiles these days; at least I know I could.
MasterPieces has some great 300 piece puzzles out there, they’re just right when you’re in the mood to puzzle but not ready to dive into a 1000 piece or larger. The quality is excellent, and the image reproduction is stellar. I’ve sometimes had issues with a super shiny finish on their puzzles, but this one was more matte and easier for these old eyes to work with.
I cannot resist a sad puppy face, it makes me feel so protective and want to give them SO much love and snuggles!
I love these lovebirds!
There’s something about the almost deadpan look and smile on this fish – it cracks me up! Jenny Newland sure does know how to make animals look sweet.
Suds and Pups by Jenny Newland – Karmin – 550 pieces
Unlike many puzzlers who prefer cats, I absolutely prefer a puzzle with dogs – in fact I’m working on another one right now. This is such a cute image by Jenny Newland, but unfortunately it didn’t have the same quality as the previous puzzle with her artwork by the same brand. Still, I had a good time putting all those sweet puppy faces together. 🐶
This is one of my Christmas gift puzzles, and I LOVE the image. This puzzle had quite a few pieces not cut all the way through, and some that were bent. It must have been one that was cut when the die was duller – although I’m not sure how that results in bent pieces. Karmin isn’t usually a brand that I buy, but I was surprised at the thickness of the pieces and the way they fit together; they were much better than previous Karmin puzzles I’ve worked.
What an adorable face! I really enjoyed this artwork, it had exactly the right amount of difficulty for a 550 piece puzzle. It wasn’t too easy, in fact it was harder than I thought; but that is perfect for a smaller puzzle, I don’t want it to be over too quickly.
I had a great time assembling this puzzle, even with it’s issues. It was full of sweet puppy faces!
Helpful Garden Paws by Jenny Newland – Karmin International – 550 pieces
This image is so very sweet, there’s something about the artwork, it isn’t like many other “cute animal” puzzles – something is special, but I can’t put my finger on it.
Slightly thinner pieces, somewhat bendable, but not too bad. Very good fit, exceptional image reproduction
I’m not a cat person at all, but that face!
*Sorry for the brevity of today’s post. My hubby has lovingly shared his illness with me, and I’m feeling terrible today.
After I finished Art City yesterday my brain and my body were both exhausted. I spent the rest of the day in bed taking many naps, and was worried that I’d have no in progress update to share with you all today. 😥
Unfortunately an upsetting thing happened in the evening, and even though I was still exhausted (I’m certain adding antibiotics to my pain regimen is part of the problem) I couldn’t turn my brain off enough to allow me to sleep.
As usual, when I can’t sleep it’s off to the puzzle room, and I was able to sort the entire thing and actually got quite a bit of it assembled too. Every cloud has a silver lining, yadda yadda yadda.
There were plenty of small sections that were easy to separate during the sorting, but other than the white kitten I didn’t try to sort any of the animals. There are many, many pieces of fur left on the trays, but I hope as I’m putting this one together that the different animals will become a little more familiar and it won’t be too much of a chore to get them assembled.
This puzzle was a Christmas gift, and I was going to apologize for how long it took me to get to assembling it – but it’s only been just over two weeks! How in the world does it feel like Christmas was forever ago? My life is whizzing past me at breakneck speeds; perhaps that’s just what happens when you’re over the hill, you’re on the down slope and speeds pick up. Yikes.
To that end, there are eight more puzzles I received as gifts, and to the two lovely ladies who gave them to me, it might be a while until they’re all assembled. The two Christmas themed puzzles may have to wait until December, but the remaining six will find their way onto my table in due course. I promise that I love them all and will absolutely be assembling them, but it may take a while.
My life complicates things all the time, and it gets in the way of my puzzling. Rude. 🤨
