12 Days of Christmas Puzzles Day 11

12 Days - 11
Holiday Dogs – Ceaco – 100 pieces

This image was a little more entertaining for me to assemble, compared to some of the other images in this set; it was nice to not be sighing while I put it together. 😉

In other news, this is my 200th puzzle this year! I’m glad it was an image that was enjoyable to assemble, and one that makes me smile.

I like the two dogs just sitting there with their hats and scarves; and the poor guy on the right is so dark that you can barely see his eyes. It definitely would be challenging in a larger piece count, so much fur and background night sky!

Only one more day to go! Christmas is tomorrow, which I’m excited for, but I think the most exciting thing is that there’s only one puzzle left! I’ll be glad to be finished with the set, and it’ll be nice to get back to my regular puzzles. It will certainly be good for the readers to not hear me b****ing about missing pieces and missing puzzles!

Merry Christmas Eve! I hope to hear all about the puzzles everyone got for Christmas, and if not puzzles, I hope Santa brings you gifts that make you smile. 🎅

12 Days of Christmas Puzzles Day 10

Town Square Tree – Ceaco – 100 pieces

Perfect tree in the town square, sigh. Who puts presents under a tree that’s outside? No one I’ve ever known, that’s for sure. If I spent hard earned money on gifts, and spent my time wrapping them I would not put them outside in the snow! Am I overthinking this? Probably.

Out of the ten puzzles from this set that I’ve assembled so far, this was the worst quality. All of them have had a few puzzles with the pieces still connected, but this one had many more than the others and a lot more puzzle dust. Otherwise the quality was good/fair. The pieces fit together well, and it was evident if you tried to place a piece wrongly; the image reproduction is very good, with clean lines and no blurriness, and a slightly shiny finish.

This has almost been like when your parents catch you smoking and make you smoke every cigarette in the pack one after another – it’s been all Christmas puzzles for the last ten days and I am sick of them. Of course I wasn’t a big fan to begin with, but all the problems with these puzzles has me weary of holiday images and is bringing out even more Grinchiness in me.

Only two more days to go. They’ll be fine, there can’t possibly be any MORE problems, that would be beyond ridiculous. You can do it, you got this!

Happy Hanukkah to all my readers who celebrate it! ✨ I haven’t seen any Hanukkah puzzles, but I would love to find one to assemble. I’ve seen a few out there, but haven’t come across any myself.

12 Days of Christmas Puzzles Day 9-I’m Boycotting Ceaco

12 Days - 9
Wouldn’t This Have Been Nice To Assemble? – Ceaco – 100 pieces

As one of my readers commented yesterday, “This is getting ridiculous” – you’re damn right it is! I’m not sure how I got a set of 12 little puzzles with so many problems, but it is absolutely ridiculous and as of now I am boycotting this brand. Please do NOT buy this set of 12 Days of Christmas Puzzles by Ceaco, the quality control is atrocious, and in the five days since I contacted the company I have heard nothing except a robo-response to my email.*

To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. This is the puzzle I was most looking forward to assembling, and would you like to hear today’s problem? The puzzle isn’t even in the box! I dumped the pieces onto a tray, turned them all over while picking out the edges, and only when I was done did I really look at the colors and images on the pieces. Hmm, these look familiar, and why is there a window, and what in the bleep is going on here!?

Even though I assembled the puzzle, there was no need to take a picture, I’ve already taken one of this puzzle, back on day 7 when I put this image together for the first time.

Last Minute Santa – Ceaco – 100 pieces

You’ll recall, as it was only two days ago, that this is not an image that is particularly my pile of pieces, as it were. Super sweet images of the perfectly decorated room with Santa distributing toys just doesn’t do it for me. Unfortunately, I got to assemble this one twice, because I had an extra copy in the slot for day 9 instead of the much more interesting close-up image of Christmas ornaments that I was so looking forward to.

In my head I know that these are only silly little puzzles, and problems with them are most definitely not the end of the world, but to be honest I wanted to cry when I realized that it was the wrong puzzle. Truly. I was so looking forward to the ornaments, it was my favorite image out of all of them; disappointed just doesn’t cover it.

Out of nine puzzles assembled so far three have had a piece missing, and one puzzle is missing ALL the pieces because it isn’t there. I’m honestly disgusted with this set of puzzles at the moment, and would like to throw them in the trash. But, being a rational person, most of the time, I won’t be doing that. I will assemble the remaining days (because being a puzzler I’m somewhat of a completionist); and when I’m finished it’s going back to the store where it was purchased for a refund.

Demanding a refund is not something I normally do, in fact I have never asked for a refund for a puzzle before, but this is an extreme circumstance. The store where I purchased this set didn’t manufacture the puzzles and it isn’t their fault, but in carrying the product they hold some responsibility to deal with any problems. As this set so far has problems with 4 out of 12 puzzles, I believe asking for a refund is reasonable. The quality control with this set of Ceaco puzzles is beyond ridiculous, and calls for some recompense. Please pardon my cussing, but I’m pissed!

12 Days of Christmas Puzzles Day 8

12 Days - 8
Santa & Reindeer – Ceaco – 100 pieces

Perhaps Santa has had a craniotomy, he fell off the roof at a previous child’s house and broke open his head; or perhaps it’s a commentary on how as a culture we’ve lost our minds about Christmas and forgotten the true meaning of ….. NOPE. It’s just another puzzle from this set with a missing piece!

I’m very disappointed in the quality control Ceaco has, or I should say the lack of quality control. This is the third puzzle, that makes 3 out of 8 with missing pieces for me so far. Penny from Puzzle Momma has been assembling her puzzles from this set too, and she’s had 2 puzzles with extra pieces. It’s frustrating, upsetting, and extremely disappointing – Ceaco is definitely on my naughty list!

Santa is cute, reindeer peeking around him, blah blah blah.

Last Minute Santa – Ceaco – 100 pieces

This little puzzle leads me to believe that the elves are definitely slacking off. Santa has to break out the paint and finish the toys inside the children’s homes? Awful! Methinks some of the elves aren’t going to be happy about their performance reviews this year. Tsk tsk.

This is another one of those sickly sweet “perfect Christmas” images that I am not a fan of. Roaring fire, perfectly decorated tree, snow falling outside, jolly Santa – ugh. Perhaps I am a Grinch at heart (which must be 2 sizes too small), but these Hallmark perfect images are the reason I don’t care for Christmas puzzles.

So many people only puzzle around the holidays, and there are SO many images like this out there to cater to those people that it’s just too much for me. I prefer Christmas images that are unique, from a different perspective, childlike, or downright quirky. Maybe it’s just the fact that I despise going along with the crowd and have a need to be myself that I don’t like these type of Christmas puzzles. Most people seem to love them, and I see the draw; the artwork is beautiful and it’s a happy holiday scene, but it’s not really what I enjoy in a puzzle. To be clear – there’s nothing wrong with them, or the people who love them; they’re just not for me.

There’s only one more puzzle with this type of artwork left, only one more helping of vegetables to get through before we get to the desserts! The rest of the images are more my speed, and I’m especially looking forward to day 9, that is the image I’ve been looking forward to the most! Stay tuned. 😉
