Greetings From the Upside Down – Buffalo – 300 pieces

Don’t know about you, but I certainly wouldn’t want a postcard from The Upside Down! Yikes. Barb’s vacation there was extended permanently, so it isn’t a place you’d want loved ones to visit. Ever.

Well, that’s enough of that. Isn’t this a cute little image for a puzzle? You can’t see much, but it’s going to be very cute once it’s all put together, trust me. This one was from my latest jaunt to the thrift store in my area that has the best selection of jigsaw puzzles, I was happy to find something at least to make the drive worth it. Honestly I had to go drop off the many, many, many puzzles that were in the trunk of my car to be donated, but still it’s always fun to go inside and find more. I know, it’s a problem.

My favorite puzzles to find there are the 300 and 500 pieces, it’s nice to have plenty of options at home for working in between the larger piece counts. I’m happy to have found this Stranger Things puzzle because there’s just something about it that makes me smile.

The quality has been excellent so far, and I’m pretty sure it’ll be able to stand up on it’s own when complete – the fit is fantastic! I hope whatever you’re working on today is just as entertaining as this one.

Blackbirds…In Progress…

Blackbirds Roost at Mill Creek by Charles Wysocki – Buffalo – 1000 pieces

Another gorgeous Wysocki is on the board, this one’s giving me a bit of a run for my money – it’s not an easy one that’s for sure! Still the challenge is fun and I love putting together his artwork (most of the time) and it makes for lovely meditation.

After laying out all the pieces and assembling the border I went and took a break, rested in bed for a while. When I came back to the board my son had already put together most of the words! That he’s enjoying puzzles and working on mine with me makes me very happy – but the words are my favorite part! *stomp*🤬

That’s alright, he should have fun with them just like I do. We’re still working on it together today, and maybe while I’m off at the doctor this afternoon he’ll get some more of the harder parts done. Here’s hoping!

Life’s A Beach

Life’s A Beach by Lars Stewart – Buffalo (Night & Day series) – 1000 pieces

This puzzle was MUCH more enjoyable than it looks, and it looks like so much fun! It was more of a challenge than I thought, but I enjoyed that; easy puzzles can be pretty boring sometimes. This was the perfect amount of difficulty for me, and as an added bonus my son helped me along the way, and at the very end he put in a lot of pieces. I love that he helps me out lately, it does an old lady’s heart good.

Great quality Buffalo puzzle, as usual. The image reproduction was gorgeous, and I was surprised at how my picture of the completed image looks pretty much exactly like the box top. Most times they don’t, the colors are a little different or duller, but this one looks like a mirror image. The fit was very nice on this puzzle as well, almost good enough to stand up but not quite there.

Is that not a gorgeous view? I loved this section and it was the very first thing I assembled after the border. I just can’t stop looking at it. 😍

Looks like a great place to spend an afternoon, doesn’t it? Drinks, pillows, a roof so the sun isn’t beating down on you – lovely. All it needs is a massage therapist (my brain doesn’t want to let me spell mah-soose at the moment – I swear I’m not an idiot, truly, I’m just old).

It isn’t an easy puzzle, but it isn’t too difficult either – it’s Goldilocks.

How to Live with an Idiot by Lucia Heffernan – Buffalo – 300 pieces

Adorable image that was more fun to assemble than I’d anticipated, don’t you just love it when that happens? I do! You can always count on a 300 piece Buffalo (at least I think so) to be good quality and fun to put together.

I just love all these descriptors! Although I highly doubt that intense looking kitty would think of any dog as a frenemy, a cat with a look like that on it’s face thinks all dogs are the enemy – at least in my mind.

There was no desire to puzzle at all when I started this one, but as I went along it became more and more entertaining and I was happy to keep working on it even when I should have gone and taken a break. Loved this one!

Colorful Crayola

Colorful Crayola – Buffalo – 300 pieces

I know, this one’s a little trippy to look at. Sorry. But it was lots of fun to put together, and it makes for an impressive finished image, doesn’t it?

There is absolutely no clue where I got this puzzle from, but it was a new, never been opened Buffalo. Right out of the box I could tell there was a quality issue with this beauty – some of it’s makeup was scraped off!

It was only on a few pieces, but some of the image seems to have been abraded off somehow. Honestly, I know how most problems with quality happen, but I’m a little bit at a loss for this one. I’ve seen how sometimes the color can come off while you’re applying glue, or how the image comes up because it isn’t applied to the chipboard correctly – this is different. It looks to have been scraped across the top of the puzzle, which doesn’t make much sense to me. Plus, if you scroll back up to look at the complete puzzle you can see that these are from all over on the puzzle, not just in one spot. Anyone out there have any suggestions as to how this happens to only a few pieces?

Anyway, even with this one problem the rest of the puzzle was the typical excellent Buffalo quality, and in particular the fit was exceptional. I don’t usually do the same brand one after another, but this was a much nicer fit than my previous puzzle (Aimee Stewart’s Carnival Costumes).

Yup! You guessed it – The Stacey Stance! This is the first puzzle I’ve been able to do this with since my fellow puzzle blogger Penny named this silly picture pose after me. I was VERY excited to be able to do this one, now that it bears my name and all. 😎

As an added bonus, my youngest, who seems to be more interested in helping out with puzzles lately came in to help me finish up this puzzle this morning. He left the last piece for me, but I think next time I may let him get that honor.

We both loved the look of this gorgeous, and very different puzzle image.
