Update on Me…

Oral surgery is no joke, and to be completely candid I am feeling pretty damned awful. I desperately want to sleep, but it’s constantly eluding me; all I’ve been able to manage are small naps. My entire face hurts and the swelling is impressive, as is the pain. Ugh. Finally this morning I am starting to feel the smallest bit better, and I’m thankful for the progress however slow it is.

I appreciate you putting up with my whining. I’m doing my best to have a positive attitude (am very much looking forward to losing some weight from feeling so awful and not really being able to chew); but it isn’t easy to be in a good mood and look at the bright side when you are really hurting. I’m grateful for being able to vent and let you know how I’m really feeling. Thanks again for “listening”.

On a happier note, I’ve been forcing myself to get up out of bed when I can and sit at the puzzle table. Sometimes I just work on the blog and upcoming posts; and I’ve started a larger collage puzzle that will hopefully serve as added incentive to keep puzzling and not wallow in bed.

So there’s a 1500 piece collage on my table, a 150 piece bathroom puzzle that just got started (double-sided apple pie image with the recipe on the back), and in bed I’m working on a stunning 140 piece Wentworth puzzle of a lion.

Never fear, the puzzling continues – I’m making up for lost time. 🧩😍🧩

Fireplace Cuddle

Fireplace Cuddle – Karmin – 100 pieces

Such a sweet image! Perfect for my first day back at the puzzle board. It went together super quickly, and honestly, as I was putting it together I told myself “Hey, you’re still pretty good at this”. It was my very own little internal pep talk, and at the very least it made me smile.

I’m pretty sure that Penny was the one who sent me this puzzle, but I can’t be 100% positive. The memory definitely isn’t what it used to be, that’s for certain. Although, being that this is an image of a Boston Terrier puppy, it is almost doubtless that Penny sent it to me – we both have a deep and abiding love for Boston’s. ❤🐶

It might have been better to save this little puzzle for after my surgery, but I also needed a smaller one to get myself back into the swing of things to start recovering my puzzle mojo. No worries, there are PLENTY of smaller cardboard and wooden puzzles that have found their way to my puzzle room in the past week.

The PADS is severe and I self-medicated with a few online and in-person shopping sprees. 😇

I told hubby that this month I was spending a chunk of my disability money on a bunch of puzzles for myself. Being the awesome man that he is, he said “It’s about time you spent some on yourself.”

💕I love that man.💕

Kiki’s Delivery Service

Kiki’s Delivery Service – 126 pieces – Artcrystal Jigsaw?

If you’re wondering, the reason for the question mark after the brand of puzzle is because almost the entire box was written in Japanese, and the only English wording that looked like it might be a brand said Artcrystal Jigsaw. I’m hoping that’s the brand, but I can’t be certain without further information gathering – which I have to tell you I’m just feeling too lazy to do at the moment.

Worked on this with my oldest son and his girlfriend at her housewarming party at the new apartment. If you’re happy I’m finally back to puzzling you have my gently nagging puzzle buddy Penny and these two crazy kids to thank for having a small puzzle sitting on the table at the party that we could work on together. 😎

That’s my baby boy and his new girlfriend, and my hand is reaching in from the bottom left. It’s a tiny little plastic puzzle, but it’s sort of translucent, and wasn’t an easy assembly.

I think she’s planning on hanging it in one of the windows. If you ask me, it’ll be very pretty in the west window with the setting sun. ☀

Sound Off!

So who’s working on what? Tell us all what fabulous puzzle you’re working on at the moment; or let us know if you found a great puzzle or image you’ve recently purchased.

I’m hoping I’ll be feeling up to having the computer in bed, and will be replying to everyone’s comments if at all possible. We’ll have to wait and see. Every time there’s another surgery or procedure with anesthesia it takes longer and longer for me to recover from it – and it sucks.

But at least I’ve got my puzzle posse to talk to, right?

Bliss & Flowers in a Bad Vase

Bliss & Flowers in a Bad Vase by Jim Tsinganos – Mr. Bob Puzzles – 40 pieces

This beauty has been sitting in the drafts folder for quite a long time – even before I took my break. Mr. Bob sent this to me to review but asked me to wait to post until the launch of the entire line of acrylic puzzles was ready to go. It looks as if they’ve decided not to continue with this type of puzzle, so I’m posting about it anyway and just not doing a formal review of it.

This is a double-sided acrylic puzzle, twice the puzzle – twice the fun! I didn’t photograph the whimsy pieces for some reason that I cannot remember, but you can see some of them in the puzzle. The assembly was more difficult than anticipated, but still super entertaining.

If memory serves me correctly, Mr. Bob Puzzles started working on this new line of puzzles before the pandemic. Once that happened acrylic became both difficult to obtain and much more expensive. Many businesses were using it as shields for their workers, and it became very hard to get and too costly.

It’s a shame, it’s a great idea (just my opinion). You can put two different images inside and there won’t be any image lift – ever. Plus you wouldn’t have to worry about pieces breaking. But alas, these puzzles aren’t in production or available for purchase on their site. What a bummer. 😢

This is the last of the puzzles assembled in the last year or so. From now on all the puzzles I post will be from THIS year and I will definitely remember the assemblies – promise.
