Working On…

Lions & Tigers & Bears OH MY by Dean MacAdam – Ravensburger – 1000 pieces

This beauty is going much faster than I thought it would, partly because it’s such a great image and partly because it’s so absorbing that I have to force myself to walk away from it.

I’m having a great time; I feel as if I might want to slow down to make it last longer – I also feel like I want to keep going because it’s so entertaining.

What to do?

Jungle Selfies – Day 4

Jungle Selfies by Howard Robinson – Cra-Z-Art – approx. 125/500 pieces

Our final day of jungle selfies has come, and that will be the end of the ridiculous life stories of these adorable jungle animals. I’m sure some of you come to see the cute puzzles, some enjoy the off-her-rocker bios that Stacey dreams up – and some of you may enjoy both. Today’s the last day for a while, until we get to the next set (providing the next set has subject matter that includes faces, that is).

Even if they aren’t premium quality, these sets by Cra-Z-Art are still well made and enjoyable to assemble; and that’s enough for me. I highly recommend you give them a try if you’re of a mind to, I find them charming, relaxing, fun, funny, and overall just great puzzles – especially if you’re needing a break from larger piece counts.

Have I convinced you yet?

Chuck here is a sweet soul full of kindness, giving, and good thoughts for every creature he knows. Unfortunately he’s about as intelligent as a box of hair….maybe slightly less so. Luckily his friends all keep an eye on him and protect him from those who might want to take advantage. Chuck earns his living as a mailroom employee at one of the jungle’s biggest corporations. He is happy there, and has no plans to move up in the organization or change jobs. He’s content.

I think I may envy Chuck, just a little bit.

Brad and Cassi, also known as Brassi to their besties are the most adorable couple in their circle of friends. What matters most to them is making sure that they’ve always got each other’s backs; it’s the two of them united no matter what happens. Brad and Cassi work together from home; their Etsy shop (selling handmade safari hats) is flourishing and they’ve even hired a few employees to do the bulk of the work. Their semi-retirement years are upon them and they’re making the most of it!

The Jungle Joyriders are a “biker gang” that rides around helping their fellow creatures and spreading positivity; you’ve already met a few of them, beautiful souls that care about others and love speeding across the country on their custom rides. Their holiday parties are legendary, and one of these days I’m hoping to be lucky enough to wrangle an invite to one of their New Year’s Eve blowouts. Wish me luck, maybe it’ll be this year!

Hope you’ve enjoyed our trip through the twisted mind of your friendly neighborhood Puzzle Goddess. It’s a weird place, I know – but you get used to it. 😎

Jungle Selfies – Day 3

Jungle Selfies by Howard Robinson – Cra-Z-Art – approx. 125/500 pieces

This set of selfies was lots of fun, partly because of the varying sizes and interesting shapes. With some sets you get many that are close to all being the exact same shape, so some variety made this one a little more interesting for me.

If you’re new here and haven’t seen any of these puzzles before, they’ve got colored backing so that if you choose you can separate each one by color. If you’re looking for a little bit more of a challenge you can forget the backing and assemble these like a 500 piece puzzle made up of smaller shaped puzzles. The quality is good/very good and there are many different kinds of images to choose from: teacups, butterflies, unicorns, birds, animals, cottages, etc. There’s something for pretty much any taste, and I definitely recommend checking them out if they look like something you might enjoy.

These names and small bios for each puzzle are just something I do because it amuses me, and hopefully it amuses a reader or two as well.

Kimmie is an exotic dancer at the local “gentlemen’s club”. She is working her way through school and hopes to one day be a doctor of neurolinguistics and a psychiatrist. She is an expert in seeming to be the dullest cat in the room, and learns much more from careful observation of others than she does from her textbooks. Not all those who work as dancers are simpletons with issues; Kimmie has a great head on her shoulders and is going places!

Best friends Magdalena and Geraldine can usually be found together out on the savannah, they’re tried and true compatriots. They’re still young and in school, but I have no doubt that one day they’ll grow to be amazing ladies. Magdalena hopes to be a wildlife photographer (her height should give her photographs excellent perspective); Geraldine just wants to grow up to be a great mother (like her own mom). With true friends like each other in their respective corners, I’m certain they’ll both achieve their goals.

Geoffrey is the music and choir teacher at Jungle Junior College, and bringing beautiful music into the world is his true passion. The kids try his patience at times, but in the end he helps his students find a love for music – we need more teachers like Geoffrey in the world. He loves learning to play different musical instruments, and is currently working on mastering the theremin – it’s quite difficult with to play with wings!

Dog Days In Progress

The Writer’s Dogs – Buffalo (Dog Days) – 750 pieces

The majority of this adorable puzzle was done yesterday. I’ve figured out a schedule for working on my puzzles in peace (sort of). When hubby is taking a nap that’s when I sneak off to the puzzle room for some precious alone time; if he’s up and working – it’s Netflix time! After he goes to bed for the evening I stay up and work on posts or the blog in general; and if there’s time left over I can even get some extra puzzle time in. 😎

I seem to be quite sensitive to sounds these days and working on my puzzles while anyone is around talking, breathing, moving, or in any way making noise frazzles my nerves. We share the room, but it doesn’t seem as though we’re able to both be in here at the same time. Tag team, that’s the way to go.

The only things left to do now are the three pups. Lots of fur! It will be the most challenging part, but I’m not dreading it at all, I’m actually looking forward to it. And honestly even I’m shocked by that last sentence! Usually lots of animals with fur can be tedious, boring, difficult, and/or frustrating. That may be what happens next, but I’m confident I’ll be enjoying myself anyway.

I’m absolutely LOVING this puzzle. Easy to sort but not too easy to assemble, great quality, a wonderful image for puzzling – it’s just entertaining in every way. What more could a member of the puzzle posse ask for?

Jungle Selfies – Day 2

Jungle Selfies by Howard Robinson – Cra-Z-Art – approx. 125/500 pieces

Since I neglected to write up all of these posts when I was finished with the puzzles I’m having to do it all now – a month later. It’s making me want to get out another set and start working on it! Sorting is always the worst part for me, but once that’s done I always have a great time working on the puzzles themselves, no matter what the set is.

Not all sets are my favorite images to puzzle, but with small piece counts like these it doesn’t always have to be something I’m completely in love with. Luckily for me, with this set, they were all such great little pieces of artwork that each one was quite entertaining. Good quality, great images – charming puzzles!

This is Miss Georgia Lynette, a southern belle with the most gracious manners in the entire jungle. Her momma taught her how to behave in every situation and she’s the most sought after dinner guest on the Serengeti. Miss Georgia is a jewelry designer who works from home; she and her husband Elrod are expecting their first child in just 11 more months. Congrats Miss Georgia!

Wallace (shown with his pet bird Ralph) is a postal employee who has his sights set on one day being Postmaster General of Rainforest National Park. He is a sweetheart of a guy to his friends – and Ralph, but is quite the taskmaster with his employees. Perhaps that means he will get that job one day. Wallace is an avid stamp collector, loves reading trashy romance novels, and holds a yellow belt in Krav Maga.

This is Rupert. He spends most of his days coming up with one get-rich-quick scheme after another. NONE of them ever work out. Most nights he can be found trying to get a free meal from friends or relatives; because he’s too lazy to get an actual job and earn his way. He’s a sweet guy, but has yet to grow up.

Grow up Rupert. Your parents are busy spending your inheritance while you do nothing with your life.
