The Talking Jigsaw Puzzle – The Hospital

The Talking Jigsaw – The Hospital – Buffalo Games – 560 pieces

We found another talking jigsaw at the thrift store! That makes 3 we’ve found, I’m hoping we can find some more. I know there are still a few we don’t have – The Beach, City Hall, and I think a few others. I purposely didn’t take a great picture of this one, as I don’t want to give away the answer 🙂

Anyway, I think this puzzle has been done a LOT, because the fit seemed quite loose, much more than is normal for a Buffalo puzzle. But it was still a lot of fun! First you assemble each window (4 pieces), and then you use the clues in each window to decide where it goes in the puzzle. In some windows you can see a room number on the door, and in others they may tell you what is happening next door to them or on another floor. It’s a logic problem within a jigsaw puzzle!

On the back of the puzzle is the word “congratulations” over and over in several different fonts, you can use these to help you be sure you’ve placed a window correctly. This puzzle would be perfect to do on a glass top table 😉

If you like a little extra puzzling in your jigsaw puzzles and you can find one, I definitely recommend the talking jigsaws, they are a blast!

Cinque Terre

Cinque Terre – Buffalo Games (Vivid Collection) – 300 pieces

This was a fun, quick puzzle that I did in one afternoon. It was so nice to start and finish a puzzle in one day rather than taking a couple of weeks!

Thrift store puzzle – 59 cents! How awesome is that? Gave me a fun afternoon, you can’t beat that for less than a dollar. Plus mom still gets to assemble it at her house. 🙂

I enjoy the larger piece Buffalo puzzles – they fit together quite well, have a nice variety of piece shapes and are the same great Buffalo quality as their puzzles with a larger piece count. The vivid collection has excellent image reproduction and are beautiful when assembled. I’m looking forward to finding more 300 piece puzzles at the thrift stores, it’s a wonderful palate cleanser after working on a large piece count puzzle!

Ocean of Dreams

Ocean of Dreams by Josephine Wall – Buffalo Games – 1000 pieces

This beauty took sooooo much longer and was much more difficult than I anticipated. Several times I debated with myself about putting it away and trying it another time, but in the end I didn’t let myself give up and finally got it finished. It’s gorgeous isn’t it?

Josephine Wall puzzles are just stunning, even looking at the pieces all jumbled up you can tell how beautiful the end result is going to be. Add glitter to the mix and you’ve got an even more appealing puzzle. I don’t know how Buffalo adheres the glitter to the puzzle – it is on there but good! There was no excess glitter in the box or on my board after assembly and disassembly. Wow!

This was a puzzle I purchased new (had to spend enough money to get free shipping) 😉 I couldn’t resist the image, and I knew it would have the usual excellent Buffalo quality. I wasn’t disappointed, but I was shocked at how difficult I found it. I don’t know if it was the image or my brain or a combination of both, but this puzzle took me quite some time to complete. I’m not complaining, and in fact I’m pretty darn proud of myself for sticking with it!

Wednesday 03-08-17 90% Done!

36,288 pieces assembled – 4,032 to go!

I don’t know how it happened so quickly, but this entire 40,320 piece puzzle is 90% finished! There is only one section left to assemble, wow!

Beauty and the Beast was as much fun as I thought it was going to be, and I’m glad I saved it till the end. Belle was so much fun to assemble, and so was the Beast. The colors are gorgeous and I loved assembling each of the smaller characters as well. I usually know all the names but I looked up the feather duster’s name because I couldn’t remember it. Babette! It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie, so I don’t feel too bad that I couldn’t remember her name. I’m sure she forgives me. 😉

I enjoyed the whole puzzle, and I’m sad it’s done already. I was torn between wanting to work on it as much as possible, and wanting it to last. In the end it took about at much time as the rest of the sections, 15 days.

So now there’s only one left. Bambi. I want to just go for it and work on it as much as possible! Will I? I’m not even sure myself.

Bambi, Thumper and Flower – look how cute they all are! I love this image, and think it’s gonna be a ton of fun to do. The carpet of flowers on the ground, the pink flowers in the trees and each of the characters are going to be fun and challenging and I’m super excited to get going.

By the way, did you know that each section has a hidden Mickey Mouse symbol? It’s easy to spot in some of them, in others you really have to search for it. You can find the one in Beauty and the Beast pretty easily, but it’s not as easy to see in this picture of Bambi. Peter Pan was the hardest to find for me, did you spot them all?

Of course it’ll be a few days before I get started (as usual) – gotta get this section off the board and sort Bambi, but I’m not in a huge hurry for that either. I’ll probably stall like last time and work a bunch of other puzzles for a few days. At least this time I’ll be conscious of the fact that I’m stalling. 🙂 Onward to Bambi!!!

Only around 200 pieces left to go by my count, so it will definitely be done tomorrow! OMG!

The banister is all done and it looks gorgeous if you ask me. All that is left is a small bit of one of the candelabras and the wall. It feels like I just started this section, how can it have been 2 weeks already?

I can’t believe it’s almost done, I’m a little bit sad. I guess I have to keep reminding myself that there are still hundreds of puzzles to be done between my house and mom’s. She keeps going to the thrift stores several times a week and we keep accumulating more and more puzzles. Sometimes I think 😮 – but then I say 😎
