Looking good, right? Dark blue is done and twinklies are begun!
The dark blue went relatively quickly today, and it’s always fun seeing the missing pieces being filled in and a whole section coming together. Everything assembled on the board is just over 1100 pieces, but it sure doesn’t look like that many in photos. In person it’s huge and looks like the giant puzzle that it is, but in photographs it just looks like a regular sized puzzle and it is difficult to see the scale. I keep racking my brain to figure out something to add to the board to show the scale, but it never really looks right in the pictures. I could lay diagonally across the board with my head in one corner and my feet towards the other and there would still be over 11 inches of extra room! It’s a big board!
More work on the twinklies tomorrow. Nothing exciting, just trying to keep on making progress every day. I’m excited to start working on the Mufasa in the sky, I think it’s gonna be gorgeous! I have to be patient and wait till I’ve got the twinklies done, but I’m really looking forward to it. Perhaps it’ll make the work on the edges go faster. 😉

Wow, it is so deceptive how big the puzzle and board are. I was surprised when you said if you laid across the board there would be 11 inches left over. It sure doesn’t look that way in the pictures. So that begs the next question — how did you take the pictures each day and manage to almost always get the entire board in the picture. You must be standing on something, and I’m thinking that’s not a good idea for you with your health issues. LOL Do you have a picture elf helping you with that part? Hee hee

Hubby made the board and I covered it with faux suede which made it so I was able to prop it up against the wall and the pieces didn’t move. I didn’t have to be on a stool or chair to take the picture. 👍

How did you so easily calculate your number of pieces left? Did you count them individually to know you had as an example, 557 pieces left to place? I think you had a phone app for every piece placed, but presumably not for what is left….

I knew each panel was 4032, and tried to keep track with the app on my phone with each piece placed. Just simple subtraction to determine how many left to assemble.

Well duh! I feel like an idiot. I should have been able to figure that out. Clearly math was never my strongest subject in school! LMAO
