I’m looking at all the darkness and clouds and can’t believe I’ve done all that. Not much more to go, so it’s gonna be finished in the next 2 or 3 days depending on how I’m feeling and if I get any assistance.  Mom will have to come over in the next day or so to put at least one piece in, it’s become our tradition! Shouldn’t be a problem though, since I’m dog sitting tomorrow for her, she’ll be over to drop off her little guy.

Tomorrow begins the twinklies. This section seems to have the twinklies a little farther down into the puzzle.  It may be that way for all the sections on the bottom, I’m not sure yet – the first 3 sections I completed were on the top half of the puzzle. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m not finding the pieces I’m looking for because they most likely have stars on them and are in the last container of pieces. So tomorrow I’ll separate them and begin the final countdown. I’m excited to get it finished!

More filling in today.  There are about 900 pieces left to go!  I may be able to have this section finished by Monday or Tuesday of next week. Maybe sooner if hubby sees how close I am and wants to help at the end. 😉

Plenty of blue left to go, then it’s on to the twinklies. Still having a good time, and I am actually not frustrated at all.  Maybe it’s because I like the whole puzzle and am excited to be working towards completion. Or maybe I’m just a jigsaw junkie who is addicted to puzzles. Perhaps both!

I saw today that someone has already finished this puzzle.  In 2 months!  I feel like a slacker. 😐 But I can only do what I can do, and it’s not a competition. I’m doing this because I want to accomplish it, and because it’s fun – not because I want to be the first or the fastest.  Lord knows I am definitely not the fastest! I’m doing what I can do, even if I can only work on the puzzle for 10 minutes at a time.  Congrats to the lady who has finished it already though. Way to go!

Stonehenge In A Nutshell

Stonehenge in a Nutshell – English Heritage – 750 pieces

Interesting jigsaw.  My first from this company, and I would say the quality is satisfactory; piece thickness was good, image reproduction was slightly fuzzy but I believe that was the artist’s rendering.

This puzzle is grid cut, with basically only 2 piece shapes.  It was the first time I was unable to assemble all the edge pieces first.  Most were a solid color, except the sides and certain parts of the bottom edge with writing.  I connected what I could, and had to wait until the puzzle was almost complete before I was able to finish the edges.

Nevertheless it was a fun, informative puzzle. Lots of information about Stonehenge and it’s construction. Plenty of words to assemble, and there wasn’t really much wasted space or large areas of sameness that would make assembly difficult – especially with only 2 piece shapes. Excellent thrift store find!

I mostly did some filling in today, it looks impressive but I wasn’t able to actually add very many pieces.  Spent most of the day resting or playing with the dog. What would be great is if doctors could actually do something about or help me with my pain.  Being in pain all the time is awful and depressing. Having this puzzle is good for me though, gives me something to look forward to, a goal to accomplish.

I may have to see if I can find a copy of Peter Pan to watch, my youngest son told me today that the filmstrip pictures don’t accurately represent the end of the movie.  It’s been so long since I’ve seen it that I don’t really remember specifically the ending.  What’s interesting about the filmstrip in this section is that the image I’m assembling is also an image in the filmstrip.  This wasn’t true of the first three sections I completed.  Kind of cool though! The stars are bigger and brighter, but otherwise it’s the same scene.

Spending the day at mom’s tomorrow, my Friday ritual. Won’t be as much progress, but any pieces added make me happy! 🙂
