Television History – White Mountain Puzzles – 1000 pieces

Another collage and thrift store purchase.  You just can’t beat a 1000 piece puzzle for 99 cents! Almost all of the ones we find are all complete as well.  Sometimes we find the odd stinker with one or more pieces missing.  Most of the time though, they are all there and sometimes we even get ones who already have the edge pieces sorted. Bonus!!

This was an easy assembly, and it was fun to figure out who everyone is and to reminisce about TV shows I watched as a child and even shows I’ve watched as an adult.

As it’s an artist’s rendering and not actual pictures sometimes it’s difficult to recognize who someone is. Fortunately there is a page on the White Mountain website where you can check the charts and see who is who. We had almost every one correct. There’s even Bill and the conductor from Schoolhouse Rock! Conjunction Junction, what’s your function?

Pencil Collage

Pencil Collage by Maureen Rupprecht – White Mountain Puzzles – 1000 pieces

This White Mountain fit together so tightly it could be stood on end!  So of course, I had to take the picture that way, and with the way the pencils are laid out in the puzzle it makes an awesome picture!

We ordered this puzzle and I put off working on it for a while because it was on the “challenging puzzles” page of the White Mountain website and I needed to be in the right mood to do it.  I did not find it to be that difficult actually, and really enjoyed the entire assembly. The image was crisp and all the printing on the pencils was easy to read. There were some funny sayings on some pencils and some very interesting ads as well.  Super fun puzzle for me – especially because I always love to have words to assemble AND it’s a collage.  Bonus!

Don’t be frightened away from challenging puzzles, sometimes the challenge is just what you need and sometimes it isn’t as difficult as you think it will be.

World War II Posters

World War II Posters – White Mountain Puzzles – 1000 pieces

I adore collage puzzles, and this one was no exception. As an added treat all the posters were interesting and actually had my mother and I looking things up online to find out more information. Apparently saving your used “waste fats” like bacon grease or meat drippings for use in explosives was one of the ways people could help in the war effort. Also saving scrap metal, rags, not wasting food, not traveling, etc. So many interesting tidbits!

Collage puzzles seem to suck me in because finishing one small section leads to having pieces already in place for the next section. It’s easy to pick out all the pieces of the same color to work on each “little puzzle”. This was a super fun puzzle for me; informative, interesting, and just plain cool looking! Thanks to my daughter for buying this one – I’m not sure if I would have purchased it myself but I’m glad she did. White Mountain has so many excellent collage puzzles and many of them are on my wish list.
