Mountain Cabin

Mountain Cabin
Mountain Cabin by Dominic Davison – Wentworth – 40 pieces

This is the first Wentworth I’ve had that was missing a piece, though to be fair it is most likely my fault and it’s around here somewhere. There are puzzle boxes everywhere, and there’s even a whole bunch of them sitting in the living room at the moment. It’s entirely possible that a box fell on the floor, or someone was looking at the pieces and they didn’t all find their way back into the box. I’m not worried, it’ll show up eventually.

These micro puzzles are a godsend; grownup images, fantastic wooden pieces, and I am able to start and finish the entire thing in one sitting. Nothing wrong with that at all!

The artwork by Dominic Davison is beautiful, but to be honest I’m not sure it would be as enjoyable as a 1000 piece puzzle – at least not for me. Gorgeous scenic vistas are lovely to look at, but not always as lovely to assemble. Of course it’s just personal preference, and there are most likely a bunch of people who would love this as a larger puzzle.

Farmyard Scene

I’m not sure why I purchased this micro puzzle, it’s not my usual “type” of image; it’s very dark and kind of boring for someone like me who likes bright, busy images. Still, even if the image isn’t my favorite, I still enjoyed figuring out which piece went where and seeing the completed puzzle.

These micro puzzles are absolutely perfect for me when my brain wants to puzzle but my body isn’t cooperating. Even if I’m not up to sitting in my comfortable chair in front of the puzzle board I can still put one of these together on a tray in bed. And although I’d usually rather spend lots of time puzzling, being able to spend only 10 minutes or so with a jigsaw puzzle seems to settle my nerves and lift my spirits. 🙂

Goldfinch Garden

I think this would be a fun puzzle in most any piece count, the artwork is beautiful! In a very large count the flowers and goldfinches would present quite a challenge – it would still be lovely though.

It’s so nice to still have many wooden micro puzzles here, if I’m feeling the need to puzzle when I’m not feeling well I can always assemble one of these beauties on a small tray no matter where I am. The quality is exceptional and the puzzling itself helps relieve stress and tension. We have the best hobby there is!

All the whimsies match the image this time, no guessing required! They also make for some very interestingly shaped pieces that fit around them, which always helps when the puzzle is somewhat difficult. Being only 40 pieces the difficulty level wasn’t too high, but it’s always nice to have a little assistance with the shapes. 🙂

Pets Selfie

For Valentine’s Day this year I decided to assemble this micro puzzle, because what better example of pure, unconditional love and friendship than our furry friends and family? They’re amazing, and always ready to give lots of love❣

You would think a puzzle hoarder like myself would have plenty of “love” puzzles to choose from, but I don’t (at the moment). There are many puzzles here that I love and am looking forward to assembling, but not ones that are love-related. But when I picked up this puzzle and saw the goofy faces of the pets I thought that this would be the perfect image for today. I think I was right; it’s so adorable and I love their sweet faces.

How cute are these whimsies? I was a little confused by the one in the middle though, perhaps it’s a dog house? Or do I have it upside down? Suggestions anyone?

Hubby and I don’t really do Valentine’s Day, we haven’t for most of our marriage. I expect him to treat me as if he loves me every single day of the year, and he expects the same from me. We don’t need a special day for it, in our house that stuff happens all the time. 💖

I do usually celebrate February 15th though – half price candy day!! 😉

Spitfires

Wasn’t planning on doing this one, but somehow got a piece from this puzzle in the box for Off to the Market. When I finished that puzzle I had to find out where the stray piece came from, and had to assemble Spitfires to be certain. I’ve gotten amnesia as to how I managed to get the pieces mixed up, but I’m used to dealing with my extremely “interesting” brain.

I’m also not really certain how the whimsies fit into the theme for this puzzle, but they look lovely for a trip to the beach, don’t they?

I’d better get a move on and put together some more micro puzzles from Wentworth, I’m almost completely out of puzzles left in the queue! It’s a good thing I have plenty of them left to assemble. Sometimes having P.A.D.S. and the puzzle hoarding that goes along with it has it’s benefits. 😉
