Dog Tales – Re-marks – 1000 pieces

I had a great time with this collage – these are my favorite sorts of puzzles – lots of words, many colors, many textures, they are never dull!

The piece shape is quite obvious in the finished puzzle, which is annoying if you want to frame and hang it, but doesn’t really detract from the enjoyment of assembly as far as I’m concerned. Otherwise the quality was quite good; thick pieces, nice fit, and beautiful colors.

These are a few of my favorite bits…Dog Tales 1

This tiny puppy squaring off with a very big bear – how adorable is that? I don’t know the book or anything about it but the cover is fantastic.

This poor guy looks like I feel sometimes, ugh. He makes me want to sit down next to him and give him a nice belly rub. 🙂

And of course, any book cover with a Boston Terrier is gonna make me happy.  My Buddy is a Boston so the breed itself is one of my favorites, and they have such wonderful expressive faces. So adorable! If that’s a French Bulldog, I don’t even care – it looks like my Buddy. 😉

Crafty – Re-marks – 1000 pieces

This was an extremely entertaining thrift store find! There were 2 missing pieces, but it didn’t detract much from the assembly. With all the bright colors and interesting patterns it kept me happy for a couple of days. 🙂

The quality was good, with an excellent fit. The pieces are a little thinner than your premium brands, but not nearly as thin and flexible as the cheapest ones. I never hesitate buying Re-marks puzzles, in my opinion they’re a good middle-of-the-road quality puzzle and they have some beautiful images to work. Everyone has their own preferences though, and the only real way to know is to try them yourself.

I loved assembling the basket of yarn, and made myself wait for that part until almost the very end.

Many times I try to hold off on what I think will be the most entertaining section until the end of the puzzle. I don’t want to get the best part done too early and then peter out with filling in the rest. I needn’t have worried with this one though, I had a great time with the whole thing!

Retro Cats

Retro Cats – Re-marks – 300 pieces

This was such a fun puzzle, I had the best time putting it together! I don’t always say this about 300 piece puzzles, but this one would be even better at 1000 pieces. Each of the sections was fun and interesting to assemble, I wish there had been more pieces so I could have spent more time with each one. (The picture is a bit fuzzy, my apologies 😕)

Cats aren’t really my thing, I’m more a pooch person; but these cats are too cute to resist and the entire puzzle was completely entertaining. I did the Retro Dogs puzzle last year, it was a Christmas present from my son, and my daughter helped me with the assembly. They’re both fun collages with very good quality pieces – what more could you ask for?

These cats show 3 different sides of me, sweet, sassy, and completely weird – that’s pretty much me in a nutshell!

Garden Room

Garden Room by Kate Mason – Re-marks – 200 pieces

Garden Room was a lot of fun, I think mostly because I enjoyed having a smaller piece count puzzle with “regular” sized pieces. Most puzzles that are 300 pieces or less have the larger, EZ grip pieces. This one was only 200 pieces, but they were the size you normally see in a 1000 piece puzzle, I had a very good time assembling it!

I am feeling brave this weekend and have started a 1000 piece puzzle from a company I haven’t tried before; plus I’m trying to finish a very large 3D puzzle that I’m reviewing. Wish me luck!

Under the Sea – Re-marks – 300 pieces

Not really my favorite, but a nice palate cleanser. Sometimes I just need a quick 300 piecer to feed my addiction while I decide what larger puzzle I’ll be assembling next.

There’s nothing wrong with the puzzle itself; the pieces are ok and fit together well, the image just doesn’t tickle my fancy. Perhaps on another day I’d be more in the mood for this puzzle and would have loved it – when I assembled it, it just wasn’t that day.

It’s a busy image, with lots of cute and not so cute creatures hiding everywhere. The orange octopus was my favorite, and the sunken ship was harder to put together than it looks!
