This puzzle is almost 30 years old! It’s showing some age spots, but it’s exceptional quality. I guess back in the late 80’s Ceaco was making some really nice, thick kid’s puzzles.
The pieces of this puzzle are so thick and dense it almost feels like wood. I’ve never seen a Ceaco puzzle like this one before, I wish they still made puzzles like this! Another thrift store find, of course – this one is from the year I got married. How in the world is 1988 that long ago? Yikes!
An adorable puzzle, and a nice easy assembly with wonderfully thick pieces that are all present and accounted for. Can’t get much better than that. My thrift store purchasing guru needs to find us some more cool puzzles please. This one was so nice!
This is a vintage puzzle I believe; the age is showing on the image. You can’t really tell in the picture, but close up you can see some aging discoloration. Still, it’s cute and it’s the Bambi I remember. So many of the Disney images are altered these days, they don’t look the same as they did in their movies. Perhaps it’s because I’m older now that this bothers me; I think they should stay true to the original character. I don’t need the princesses to look prettier or the characters to be cuter, they should be as they were!

This was another puzzle from our marathon day, I think it was the last of the small puzzles we did. I didn’t know Golden made puzzles; I knew they made books but not jigsaw puzzles! The pieces were thick and fit together very well, and aside from the discoloration this puzzle was very nice quality. It was a little bit of a challenge actually, or that could be because it was the last puzzle of the day. Who can tell? Can’t wait to see if we can find more puzzles from Golden, this one was very nice!
I loved this movie when I was little, Thumper was my favorite because he was kind of sassy like me and always laughing and joking. When I was young if you wanted to watch a movie you had to go to the theater, there was no way to watch movies at home. So mom would buy 8 tracks or cassette tapes that were sort of a read along shortened story of the movie with the actual character’s voices from the movie and the songs too! That way we could “see” the movie over and over and sing the songs at home. We had them for many of the Disney movies; we would listen to these in the car when we took road trips, or even just on the way to the grocery store. What I wouldn’t give to have those now! 🙂

Adorable kid’s puzzle from the thrift store. Puzzles for my Christmas in July here on the blog seem to be falling in my lap. There are plenty of Christmas puzzles in the thrift stores lately, though I’m definitely not complaining.
This is a Springbok puzzle which has good quality with very thick pieces and nice image reproduction, the fit is what I’m not a fan of. Springbok puzzles usually have an extremely tight fit, so much so that you have to really press down to connect the pieces. This puzzle was so tightly fit that the finished puzzle curled up at the edges! I prefer a fit that doesn’t require upper body strength; to me, if I have to work that hard to connect two pieces it makes me question if they actually fit together. But that is my personal opinion, it’s really just a matter of taste. A lot of people prefer the tighter fit, isn’t it great that we’re all so different and there’s a puzzle out there for everyone? 🙂
This was a quick assembly that mom and I did after she finished showing me her latest finds from the thrift stores. We both enjoy putting together the kid’s puzzles – first we have to make sure all the pieces are there before I pass them along to my grandson. And second, we have both refused to grow up – so even though she’s in her 70’s and I’m in my late 40’s we are still little kids at heart who can still have a good time putting together a kid’s puzzle. 😎
Peppermint Patty was always my favorite of the Peanuts gang, because she had freckles and was a tomboy, just like me! I prefer hanging out indoors these days and there isn’t any running around since I was injured, but I’ve still got my freckles. 😉

Gorgeous puzzle! Cobble Hill makes an excellent large piece puzzle – beautiful linen covered pieces that feet great in your hand and fit together wonderfully. Thrift store finds are so much fun. 😉
This was one of the 5 puzzles mom and I assembled in one day. We grabbed all the kid’s puzzles we needed to assemble to check that all pieces were there and did every one! For me it was the best quality puzzle of the day. The image is adorable and sweet and would be great for kids; and it isn’t too childish, so it would also be good for anyone who needs or likes larger piece puzzles.
Puzzle Warehouse carries this puzzle in two sizes, a 35 piece and a 60 piece. It’s a great quality puzzle, I highly recommend it. 👍
A very nice kid’s puzzle from another new-to-me company, Dalmatian Press. I liked it very much, it’s nice to have a shaped kid’s puzzle now and then. Seems like we’ve found quite a few of them lately. 🙂
Dalmatian Press – pretty good quality. The pieces are on the thin side, but relatively sturdy and they fit together very well. The image reproduction was sharp with beautiful colors – nice quality for a kid’s puzzle.
It doesn’t look like it, but this puzzle was more difficult than it looks. Either that or these bleeping hot flashes are continuing to boil my brain cells. 😐 It took a little longer than normal for me to assemble this one, but in the end I finally got there – even though I felt like an idiot having a hard time with a 101 piece puzzle!
