Grin & Bones In Progress…

Grin & Bones – MicroPuzzles – 150 pieces

And here I thought I had all my Halloween puzzles done and ready to publish – NOPE! Saturday I received my monthly subscription box from MicroPuzzles and it had two more spooky holiday puzzles for me. Normally the MicroPuzzles aren’t completed at my big puzzle board, but there are exceptions to every rule.

There are already enough puzzles in the queue for the entire month of October, so now things are going to have to be moved around a bit to make sure these puzzles are published before Halloween. It isn’t too much of a big deal, but usually I post about my puzzles in the order they are completed. But like I said, there are exceptions to every rule. 😉

The first of the two new puzzles is already finished, and this one has just begun. There wasn’t much puzzling done yesterday because I hurt my shoulder just moving around in bed (getting old ain’t for sissies), so I wasn’t at my puzzle board for very long.

I will get this little guy finished today though, it’s too cute to sit here for very long, and at only 150 pieces it won’t be that difficult. Hope you’re having as much fun with your current puzzle as I’m having with mine. To all members of the puzzle posse everywhere – happy puzzling! 🧩

Eggcellent

Eggcellent – Buffalo (Vivid Collection) – 1000 pieces

This bright, beautiful, colorful puzzle was truly a joy to assemble. I always enjoy having blocks or sections of color or patterns to work with, and this was perfect for me! 💜💛🧡

The quality of this Buffalo puzzle was stellar, you can see in the picture above what a great fit it had, and the reproduction was beautiful. As always there are a variety of piece shapes and the cut itself was excellent. I think this is the best quality puzzle of this brand that I’ve assembled in a while.

I don’t always remember to get holiday puzzles done in time, but thankfully this beauty showed up at the right moment and I remembered (which is a small miracle in itself) that the holiday was coming up. I’m pretty proud of myself actually. 😊

Happy Easter to those of you that celebrate the holiday. I hope whether you’re celebrating or not that you have a wonderful Sunday.

Happy puzzling my friends! 🧩💖

Yeti for 2022

Yeti for 2022 – MicroPuzzles – 150 pieces

I know I just posted a MicroPuzzles puzzle a few days ago, but I’ve developed a health complication and haven’t been able to be at my board for the last several days. Unfortunately, it may be a week or more until I’m able to be back at the table; so the only puzzling available to me is in bed, on trays. Good thing there are so many mini puzzles from several different brands to keep me company. 😎

There are about 20 completed puzzles in the queue at the moment, so while my puzzling will be limited to smaller ones for now, you won’t be seeing them until nearer the end of January. But I always like to start the new year with a completed puzzle on January 1 – so we interrupt our December puzzles for a brand new one just completed this morning!

*Please forgive the less than optimal lighting, these pictures were taken in my bedroom, on a tray. I tried my best.*

This puzzle is from the MicroPuzzles subscription box I received in December, and it’s great having a New Year’s puzzle to share with you on New Year’s Day. Most of it was completed last year (yesterday), but I left a few pieces so that it would be the first completed puzzle of the new year. Isn’t it adorable?

Both this puzzle and the other one in the December subscription box have a little something extra too, something I haven’t seen before on any of the previous puzzles of theirs that I’ve done…

An image on the back as well! I saw all the snowflakes when I dumped out the pieces – they even helped me make sure I’d gotten the right pieces together along the edge. My assumption was that it was just a bunch of snowflakes on the back, but it was a lovely surprise when I flipped the completed puzzle over and saw the 2022. Very nice! The second December puzzle hasn’t been assembled yet, but I can see snowflakes on the backs of the pieces in the test tube; it could be the same image as above, or maybe something different – we’ll have to wait and see when I get to it.

It’s so nice for me to still be able to work on my puzzles when sitting up at the board isn’t an option, and having mini puzzles to work on to break up the monotony of watching television is a welcome distraction. There are many brands that have small puzzles that you can work on anywhere with just a little bit of space, and they make me very happy indeed!

Happy New Year to all my puzzle posse! I hope you are all safe and well, and here’s to a better year than the last. 💚🧩💚

Joyeux Noël

Joyeux Noël by Hello Angel – Wentworth – 206 pieces

Isn’t this a beautiful image? I fell in love with it when I saw it, and couldn’t wait to put it together; I even got a copy for my favorite sister-in-law and her family. (It’s my tradition to send them a beautiful wooden puzzle every Christmas for them to assemble as a family over the holidays) It’s just so lovely, and not your usual Christmas puzzle – you know how muchI love that!

The description said “extra difficult” for this puzzle, because of the repetitively cut snowflake shaped pieces. I’ve done several puzzles that Wentworth said would be extra difficult, and I never found them to be that much of a challenge. This one though … oh boy… it’s deserving of that title. After I put together about the first five pieces I told hubby, “Your sister is going to hate me for sending her this puzzle – it’s really hard!”

It was late in the evening when I started, and the next morning with a freshly-caffeinated brain I worked on it a little more. Once my coffee soaked gray cells wrapped themselves around how the pieces fit together it wasn’t too bad – but it is still probably the most challenging Wentworth puzzle I’ve done.

Even so – a very, very entertaining puzzle. And although my SIL and her family may need an adult beverage or two to deal with this puzzle, I hope they enjoy it and forgive me for sending a puzzle that is très difficile. 😉

Here you can see the snowflake cut, which is part of why it was such a challenge. I loved it though, and the finished puzzle is so different – and beautiful!

It’s Christmas Eve, so allow me to wish those who celebrate Christmas a wonderful holiday. Joyeux Noël!

**You have NO idea what I went through to get the umlaut over the “e” in Noël! This new wordpress editor doesn’t make things as easy as they think it does, and it must have taken me close to 10 minutes to figure it out – even with googling how to do it.**

Reindeer Games

Reindeer Games – MicroPuzzles – 150 pieces

Is this not an adorable puzzle? I thought I was done with holiday puzzles this year, but this cutie arrived in the mail and since it had the year 2021 all over it I had to get it done. It wasn’t too much of a sacrifice. 😉

Hubby loved this one, and was constantly working on it. He’d go in and sit down, then come out and tell me what he was able to get put into the puzzle, or exactly how many pieces he was able to add. He enjoyed it very much, and was very proud of everything he was able to accomplish.

I loved it too, such a great image!
