Most of the sky is done, and I even got started on the back side of Pride Rock. It’s looking pretty darn good. I love the sky in this section – it’s absolutely beautiful!

I’m surprised how much I’m still loving this whole puzzle. I thought for sure there would be boredom at some point, that I’d put it away for a couple weeks or so and come back to it reluctantly. Surprisingly that hasn’t happened; and sometimes when I’m not feeling well I’m upset that I’m not able to work on it more. I’m even having trouble working on other puzzles.  At one point I had started and put away 3 different puzzles – I just wasn’t “feeling it” and only wanted to be working on my Memorable Disney Moments. And yes, I do realize how weird I sound, and how weird I am. But I love me and I’m still having loads of fun, that’s what matters. 😎

I haven’t decided where to go next. I could work on the dark part of Pride Rock or start on the giraffes on the left side of the image. I usually have a plan, but my brain doesn’t seem to be working at the moment. As usual, I will probably see what grabs my attention and start there. Sometimes it’s good to not have a plan – it’s like an adventure! 😉

Mufasa! It didn’t take as long as I thought it would and most of the pieces were easy to find within the container of sky pieces. Of course, waking up at 2:45 am helped too. Can’t sleep? Might as well puzzle. It’s much quieter than watching tv, so I don’t worry about waking anyone up.

Doesn’t he look awesome though? I know it isn’t great photography, but I’m doing my best with weird lighting and a camera phone. I love that he’s in the clouds looking down on his family, and the colors are just gorgeous! It’ll be even better looking once the whole sky is finished, there are still some great shades of blue and clouds that are almost a dark pink – gonna be fabulous!

More sky tomorrow, and perhaps some work on Pride Rock. Depends on my mood, I think. If I’m cranky and tired and feeling contrary I’ll probably do whatever it is I feel like – damn the plans! I’m feeling tired, cranky and contrary right now, can you tell? 😕

The “frame” is set!

The edge has been constructed, and I am ready to start work on the sky. I know it’ll take a while and won’t be super easy, but I also know it’s going to look amazing when it’s done! Can’t wait to see that big Mufasa in the sky looking down over everyone. Stunning!

Was up at 3:45 this morning so I got a LOT more done than I thought I’d be able to, but that also means I’m done with this for the day. I plan on spending the rest of the day in bed and will start fresh with the sky tomorrow.

I hope you’re having a great day wherever you are! Working on any fun puzzles?

I was adding new puzzles to my wish list at one of the online shops I purchase from, and the total so far was $280. Oh my! 😮 It’s just a list though, I didn’t order anything! Yet.

I’ve almost got the edges done! I should be able to get it mostly finished tomorrow. *fingers crossed* I have a crappy schedule tomorrow where I will have to be gone most of the day so I’m hoping to at least have enough time in the morning to sit for a while with a nice cup of coffee and get the edges finished.

It’s going pretty quickly.  Of course there are always the missing pieces where you think “How could I not have pulled that one?” But it’s like that for me most of the time, so it isn’t too upsetting. I just laugh at myself and try to remember that I really need to schedule an appointment to get some new glasses. 🙂

Looking good, right? Dark blue is done and twinklies are begun!

The dark blue went relatively quickly today, and it’s always fun seeing the missing pieces being filled in and a whole section coming together. Everything assembled on the board is just over 1100 pieces, but it sure doesn’t look like that many in photos. In person it’s huge and looks like the giant puzzle that it is, but in photographs it just looks like a regular sized puzzle and it is difficult to see the scale. I keep racking my brain to figure out something to add to the board to show the scale, but it never really looks right in the pictures. I could lay diagonally across the board with my head in one corner and my feet towards the other and there would still be over 11 inches of extra room! It’s a big board!

More work on the twinklies tomorrow. Nothing exciting, just trying to keep on making progress every day. I’m excited to start working on the Mufasa in the sky, I think it’s gonna be gorgeous! I have to be patient and wait till I’ve got the twinklies done, but I’m really looking forward to it. Perhaps it’ll make the work on the edges go faster. 😉
