Christmas Puzzle Ball Set

Xmas Puzzle Ball
Christmas Puzzle Ball Set – Ravensburger – 27 pieces each (108 pieces)

Mom found these at the thrift store for 99 cents – brand new in the wrapper! With a larger 3D puzzle I usually have to use the numbers on the back to help with the assembly. With these though, I used only the image. It made it more difficult with the blue snowy sections, but I was pretty darned proud when I got them put together.

There are two images on each ornament, here’s the other side…

They were engrossing and entertaining, exactly what I needed that day. They remind me of my mom – but in a happy way. She always was the best at finding us great deals on puzzles, and this was no different.

Koala – CraZart – 100 pieces

More fun than I thought. Thinner pieces and difficult image, but entertaining nonetheless. Kids puzzles make my happy – I’m still able to puzzle when I’m not feeling well, but it isn’t the commitment of a 1000 piece puzzle that might take days.

These days my anxiety is getting the better of me and although I want to work on my puzzles some days being able to get out bed and actually get to it is extremely difficult.

Want a Ride?

Want a Ride
Want a Ride? – Milton Bradley – 100 pieces

Another silly title by me for a puzzle with no title shown on the box. How intense are these puppy/kitty looks? Pretty intense. Would you want a lift from a car full of these darlings? I definitely would!

Fair quality kids puzzles from Milton Bradley. The fit was good, the pieces were on the thinner side, and the finish was a bit shiny. Not too bad for a thrift store purchase, I got 3 silly puzzles to assemble for a dollar – not bad at all! 🙂

I love the butterfly “barrette” in the bunny’s hair, it’s too adorable! This was just a quick little puzzle that made me happy to assemble. As is sometimes the case with Milton Bradley puzzles it was only fair quality; I do wish jigsaw puzzles made for children were a little more sturdy. 😐

Berenstain Bears

Berenstain Bears
Berenstain Bears by Stan & Jan Berenstain – Golden Puzzles – 100 pieces

This puzzle reminds me of when my kids were little – they loved the Berenstain Bears and the books were usually found all over the house. Although the books have been around for more than 50 years, I don’t really remember reading them myself when I was young – although I must have. For me these books make me think of my children and how much all three of them loved reading. ❤

This was a very nice quality puzzle, with an excellent fit and interestingly shaped pieces…

Berenstain Bears 1

Most of the time with a puzzle aimed toward children the pieces are very standard, but these made for a more interesting assembly – and it was a refreshing change. Sadly there was a missing piece so I wasn’t able to send it along to the school I normally donate to, but it was still fun for me to put together.

Even though I’m technically an adult I love puzzles of all shapes and sizes and have no problem whatsoever putting together small puzzles made for kids; puzzles are always entertaining for me. It makes me think of that wonderful line from Horton Hears a Who by Dr. Seuss – changed a bit for us dissectologists of course – “A puzzle’s a puzzle, no matter how small.”
