Wonderland In Progress…

Wonderland by Bill Bell – Wentworth – 140 pieces

This little Wentworth puzzle has been slow going so far, I’ve put away the box so this is being put together without an image for reference. Still, it’s bright and colorful and I’m hoping it’ll be great fun.

The image on the box seems quite small, and it’s a bit difficult to see the detail; so I’m looking forward to seeing the artwork in more detail on the pieces themselves. There have only been a few pieces put together here and there, when I see a piece that goes with another – pretty much like all jigsaw puzzling now that I think about. But there’s so much going on that it isn’t coming together as quickly as it normally does.

Still having a good time with it though, and that’s the part that counts!

I’m having a rough time lately, and don’t seem to be as interested in puzzling as I usually am. Once I get a puzzle going things are ok, but it’s getting one started that’s the problem; I’d rather lay in bed and watch Netflix to be honest. But that isn’t good for me at all. Sigh.

The Alchemist’s Home In Progress…

The Alchemist’s Home by Vasilisa Romanenko – eeBoo – 1000 pieces

I’m loving this puzzle that my beautiful daughter gave me for Christmas and although it’s slow going I’m enjoying every bit of it. It’s been quite a while since I’ve put together an eeBoo puzzle, but the image on this one is fantastic and it’s been very entertaining so far.

Just a side note, the “stamp” on the front of the box says that the company is Woman Owned and Mother Run. LOVE THAT!

Ice Cream Social In Progress…

Ice Cream Social by Lars Stewart – Milton Bradley – 300 pieces

It took me forever to decide which puzzle to do next; my last puzzle of 2023 was a 1000 piece puzzle that was a bleeping nightmare to work with and my first puzzle of 2024 was a little 101 piece puzzle that my son got me for Christmas. I wanted the next one to be entertaining and relatively good quality and seeing this Lars Stewart image made my decision for me – bright colors, lots of words, and lots of yummy, colorful ice cream!

This is a thrift store purchase, and there are a lot of pieces with bent tabs, but otherwise the quality has been good so far. The fit is nice, the finish is matte and has a good hand feel, there are a good variety of pieces and the image reproduction is gorgeous.

Here’s hoping it’s a complete puzzle and it remains fun to assemble!

…Movies In Progress…

Going To The Movies – Springbok – 1000 pieces

I finally got this one sorted and started assembling the edges, but the border is more difficult than anticipated. I admit that I gave up on it for a bit yesterday and had plans to come back and at least get the border done, but life got in the way. As usual.

Then there were plans to get up early this morning and finish the edge before I had to type up today’s post, but sleep got in the way of that one. 💤💤

Hopefully once the border is complete it’ll be a little bit easier!

No More Christmas, Yay!

Christmas and Christmas puzzles are behind me now, and I’m quite pleased about it to be honest. *insert happy dance here💃💃💃*

I’m so very glad that the advent calendar was a success and every puzzle was different and had all it’s pieces; but I’m also glad to go back to puzzles that I have chosen and whose images make me happy.

I received three puzzles as presents. But here’s the problem with being a prolific puzzle blogger – one of them I’ve already assembled (February 2022), and one of them I have here but haven’t put it together yet. I felt so bad telling my daughter that I already own the puzzle she bought me, but she always wants me to be honest and so I was. It doesn’t matter though, I LOVE that they picked out puzzles that they knew I would enjoy. If I already have it or have assembled it, then they know what I like – and that makes my heart happy. 💕

So now we’re back to puzzle images I like (for the most part), and there are 10 or more than have been sitting in the queue for more than a month waiting for their turn in the spotlight. It’s a good thing I’ve started writing up the entire post once the puzzle is finished, because I can barely remember the assembly of these puzzles, it seems so long ago!

I used to just put the pictures in a draft post, write a couple notes that I wanted to talk about regarding the assembly, and then type up everything later when I was more in the mood for “writing”. Now I’ve started writing up everything immediately so I won’t have to remember anything later because menopause and pain meds seem to have taken quite the toll on my poor, aging brain cells. It’s better to get everything down as soon as I’ve finished while it’s still fresh in my mind.

We’ll also be back to my usual format, which is two days of puzzles followed by an in progress post about whatever puzzle is on my board. My son has picked out a collage of movie posters for me to assemble next (thrift store purchase), and the box is sitting on my board but it hasn’t even been opened yet. Maybe today I’ll crack it open and start sorting, but it might be tomorrow too. At this very moment I’m not really in the mood for puzzles. Hopefully soon!

Did you get any puzzles as gifts this year? Tell me all about them!
