Pretending to be Normal

Pretending to be Normal
Pretending to be Normal by Suzy Toronto – White Mountain – 1000 pieces

I’ve been putting off writing up this post because sadly this is the last puzzle my mother and I assembled together; happily though, I love Suzy Toronto and this puzzle was a joy to put together – I have wonderful memories. I’m planning to reassemble it and hang it on the wall in my puzzle room.

Good quality, lots of words, great fit, fun colors – but it really doesn’t matter, because it was our last puzzle together I will cherish it forever.

In Progress

We started with all the little words, of course – we both enjoyed assembling words in a puzzle – like mother, like daughter. 🙂 Everything was put approximately where it goes and then the harder part began.

These were our two favorite quotes; mine was the hissy fit and mom’s was the sofa. And they both describe each of us perfectly. 😇

Thank you so much Penny for swapping puzzles with me and sending this one. I loved it when mom and I put it together – not knowing it was our last. Now that I do know, I love it even more and it will always have a special place in my heart (and in my puzzle room too). 💖

I miss you mom.

Spring Tulips

Spring Tulips
Spring Tulips by Marjolein Bastin – Ceaco – 300 pieces

To be perfectly honest, I don’t remember much about this assembly. It was about three months ago that I completed this puzzle, and the most I can remember is that it was enough of a challenge that it didn’t seem like a 300 piece count puzzle.

It was about average Ceaco quality, although I do find that their 300 piece puzzles tend to be a little better quality-wise than their larger piece counts.

I enjoy the artwork of Marjolein Bastin, she does nature very well. And her puzzles look like they’d be a snap to assemble, but usually are much more challenging than they look!

Here’s another one from the big box with ten double-sided 24 piece educational kids puzzles. They are excellent quality, with interesting pictures, and nice fit. I not ashamed to say I enjoy putting them together even if it only takes a couple of minutes from start to finish.

Here’s the reverse side…

Sometimes I like to take them apart and reassemble the back side, and sometimes I’m lazy as bleep and I just flip it over to take the picture. This time? Lazy. 🤷‍♀️

Educational kids puzzles make me happy, because a lot of the time I’m learning or re-learning things too! I assembled a bunch of kids puzzles one day to try to bump up the number of puzzles in my queue, and I had a very good time with them.

This double-sided puzzle came from a box containing ten puzzles (20 if you do each side separately) that mom and I found at the thrift store. Luckily each puzzle was bagged by itself so I’m almost certain that all of them will be complete. They’re a very nice quality set of puzzles, with thick pieces that fit together well.

The T-Rex looks like he’s going in to make a meal of the Triceratops, but the Triceratops looks completely oblivious and happy. Too funny!

I don’t feel weird at all assembling these puzzles made for children. Firstly I donate all kids puzzles to a school for special needs kids where my daughter works, and I don’t want to send in any puzzles that are missing pieces. Second, I’m not one of those people who think assembling a small puzzle just isn’t challenging and therefore not worth my time – I’ve done some really difficult kids puzzles! Third, no matter the piece count, I absolutely love jigsaw puzzles.💗

Country Store

Country Store by Art of Eduard – Buffalo – 500 pieces

I enjoyed this puzzle very much, and if it suits your fancy I highly recommend it! The quality is excellent, and the image makes for entertaining puzzling. Mom came over to help me finish it and we both had a great time. 🙂

General Store puzzles are usually great fun – there are so many little signs to assemble, and so many things to discover. One of my readers asked me to be sure to show what was behind the windows, and here they are…

Country Store 1

You can’t see much with all the signs and things in the way, but there are some shelves inside that you can see.

Country Store 2

I love the “Free Beer Tomorrow” sign – it’s never tomorrow! 😉
