Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas

Fabulous Las Vegas
Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas by Charles Fazzino – TCG – 300 pieces

This Vegas puzzle was purchased on one of the last puzzle shopping trips before everything shut down; there were a few 300 piece puzzles with images by Charles Fazzino, and this one jumped right out at me. It’s quite busy and full of detail, and I’m happy to report the quality was excellent.

It was very good quality for a TCG puzzle; nice thick pieces, with excellent fit and image reproduction. There was only one piece shape, which is a bit disappointing, but the image is so detailed that it didn’t make putting it together any less engrossing. The assembly was entertaining, and as someone who’s been to Las Vegas I found it great fun to see the representations of some of the Vegas landmarks and hot spots.

Fabulous Las Vegas 1

Motel with waterbeds, porno movies, 24 hour drive up weddings, slot machines – where else could you be but Vegas? 😉

Fabulous Las Vegas 2And if you want to get out of town you can go see the Hoover Dam, or visit the Chicken Ranch – two VERY different sights to see. If you haven’t heard about The Chicken Ranch, um…. it’s a place where some “ladies of the evening” work.

Fabulous Las Vegas 3

I have a special place in my heart for Circus Circus. Mom and Dad went to Vegas when I was younger, and she talked about it a lot and told us how much fun it was. She thought it was the best place in Vegas (at least for her), and my memories of her stories still make me smile. 🙂 When I went there about 10 years ago, we stayed across the street at the Riviera, and I couldn’t wait to go to Circus Circus and see what she was talking about. It was a pretty fun place, and they had great buffets too!

My only problem with this puzzle was this bit at the top, where the image was ripped. It’s just an anomaly, one of those things that happens. I’m not mad or wanting my money back; it didn’t make the assembly any less fun, I still had a great time!

Doggie Heaven

Doggie Heaven by Julie Pace Hoff – TCG – 500 pieces

This puzzle was bright, fun, and almost had too much cuteness! My son and I counted 45 dogs in this image (yup, he helped me finish it ❤).

I love the pooches being pampered under the hair dryers, and the dogs seem to love the kennel corn.

I really enjoyed this one! The pieces were actually thicker than other TCG puzzles I’ve done, and there were a variety of piece shapes as well. Much better quality than most other puzzles from this brand that I’ve worked.

Country Store

Country Store by Tom Antonishak – TCG – 100 pieces

I love this image, it would make a great larger piece puzzle – 500 or 1000 pieces. Another puzzle from our marathon and another one that isn’t a child’s image. Unfortunately, another one with less than stellar quality. 😦

TCG and Sure-Lox, for me, are just poor quality. The pieces are extremely thin, easily bent and have quite a bit of image lift, especially if you place a piece incorrectly. It’s a bummer for me when we have a poor quality puzzle. Mom and I have decided no more of this brand even if the image is amazing.

On the plus side, the pieces were all there and the image itself is a lovely one for a puzzle. It would be excellent in a larger piece count!

Spirit of the Elements

Spirit of the Elements by Josephine Wall – TCG – 750 pieces

My mom was surprised I wanted to do this puzzle, but I thought it looked like fun- and who can say no to glitter?? I was in the mood for an image that wasn’t a collage or too busy, and this one spoke to me for some reason.

It was also from another puzzle company that I’d never tried before, TCG. When my husband sat down to help me, he commented on how nicely the pieces fit together, and I agree.  They fit together very satisfyingly. There were only 2 piece shapes, which isn’t ideal, but the image is gorgeous.  Josephine Wall does things with blending and color that are absolutely stunning! This was my first puzzle with her artwork, but it definitely won’t be my last.

Even with the sameness of the piece shapes, I still enjoyed the assembly very much. Another wonderful thrift store purchase. Mom is always finding the coolest puzzles! Thanks mom!
