Roz*

Roz* – Brother Sister – 100 pieces

This is an unnamed puzzle, so I have christened it “Roz”. That stern face reminds me of the character Roz from Monsters, Inc. Roz here is a no nonsense kinda gal who doesn’t take crap from anybody; she’s smart and fair, but short on patience. Do what she says and no messing around!

Brother Sister Design Studio is the house brand for Hobby Lobby. I don’t shop there, but the few puzzles of theirs that I’ve done (from swaps/thrift stores) are good quality. Somewhat thin, sturdy, good reproduction and a variety of shapes. They have some great images that I’ve seen and I’ve been impressed with each of their puzzles that I’ve assembled.

Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland by Jen Cameron – MicroPuzzles – 150 pieces

This was one of the more difficult mini puzzles. Much more of a challenge than I thought it would be. Hubby and I both enjoyed it immensely though; there’s something about working with the small pieces, and only working a little bit at a time. So entertaining!

There is constantly a puzzle going on in our bathroom, and I love that it’s always there when I need a break from whichever puzzle is on my board. I also enjoy being able to share the assembly with my husband even though we aren’t working on it at the same time.

MicroPuzzles can sometimes have a fit that’s slightly loose, but for the most part it’s a very good fit. So much so that…..

I can do this with all their puzzles, but I thought it was time I actually took a picture of it. MicroPuzzles make excellent puzzles and I’ve enjoyed every single one of them so far.

The Seven Chakras – Eagle Update #2

Well, I received my re-worked eagle chakra puzzle, and have finally succeeded in assembling the multipiece whimsy that represents the eagle itself – triumph!

I couldn’t be happier with the customer service I received from Liberty Puzzles, and am grateful for both their assistance with this problem and their fantastic puzzles. Once my request alerted them to my dilemma with the eagle chakra, they wasted no time in communicating with me and resolving the issue. If you ask me, they get an A+ for excellent customer service.

So, here’s the picture that tens of readers have been waiting for – all of the whimsies from the eagle puzzle – including the multipiece representation of an eagle……

See that eagle above our woman in the lotus position? That’s the little bugger that caused me so much grief; I had all the proper pieces pulled, I just couldn’t get them to fit together properly. But a little tweak from the puzzle designer to correct a slight miscalculation and voilà! Success!

This puzzle set was so fun and interesting to assemble, and I’ve also received a hint about how they all connect together (which was what I suspected you could do when it was put together the first time). So I will definitely be working with these beautiful puzzles again, especially so that I can try to connect them all together in the proper order.

And when I do, I will take a picture of the seven of them attached together as one – to show you these amazing puzzles again, and how much intricate design goes into one of their creations.

I’m still astonished by this set of stunning wooden puzzles and how much thought went into their composition and construction. Absolutely sensational!

Focus

Focus by Karen Bloomfield – Mr. Bob Puzzles – 40 pieces

My first mini puzzle from Mr. Bob – I liked it very much! I chose this one specifically because it looked as though it would be a challenge. It was.

It was the usual well made wooden puzzle from Mr. Bob Puzzles, with beautiful reproduction. Normally an image like this isn’t my pile of pieces, but being stuck in bed and only able to do small puzzles made me desire something a bit more demanding than the regular mini wooden puzzle. This one fit the bill perfectly.

As always there is a whimsy of Australia, plus some other fun shapes as well. Seeing all the great whimsy pieces is the best part of opening a new wooden puzzle – at least it is for me.

Schmetterling!

Schmetterling! – MicroPuzzles – 150 pieces

Such a beautiful puzzle image, and the dark background makes the colors really pop. I love having these mini puzzles around since not only am I in bed a lot, they’re also perfect for leaving on the table in our master bathroom. They’d also be great for someone who doesn’t have much space for puzzling. You could buy a cookie sheet from the dollar store (or it’s equivalent) and have a portable puzzle table you could take with you almost anywhere. 😁

When my infection was diagnosed and we realized I’d have to be in my room in bed almost all the time, I started with a few of my mini wooden puzzles that I have hanging around the house. After a couple of those I wanted a little bit more of a challenge so I took our current bathroom puzzle out into the bedroom to work on it.

Hubby got a little upset that I took this one out of the bathroom to complete it; he was having too much fun with it, and was “slow walking” it trying to make it last longer. Oops! Sorry hon. ❤

*In case anyone is wondering, schmetterling is the German word for butterfly.*
