Carnival Costumes In Progress…

Carnival Costumes by Aimee Stewart – Buffalo – 1000 pieces

This beauty has been slow going, but it doesn’t have anything to do with the puzzle, and everything to do with me. I’m not able to sit for long, and this has been going together one little costume, or partial costume, at a time. Still, the colors are amazing and I’m enjoying myself even if I’m not in front of the board for any extended periods of time.

The poster that came with this puzzle seems overly large, and in order to hold it and look at certain areas I either need both hands or it has to be folded up a bit. I find this less than easy to work with. Some puzzles (for me) require use of the box image or poster, and this is one of them – but this big poster isn’t the most user friendly, in my most humble Puzzle Goddess opinion.

I may not be able to finish this one today, but at the very least I’m shooting for getting it done by tomorrow. Can’t wait to see it completed, it’s gonna be gorgeous!

The Golden Trio In Progress…

The Golden Trio – Wentworth Wooden Puzzles – 225 pieces

I am absolutely LOVING this puzzle! It’s one of the nine (yes, nine) I purchased when I found out that Wentworth was having a sale and that all Harry Potter puzzles were 70% off. This gorgeous 225 piece puzzle was mine for less than $19! If you’re a teeny bit jealous, don’t be; as of today (July 2, 2026) the sale is still going on.😁

Normally this puzzle would have been finished yesterday, but I spent almost all day with my daughter; we went and got our hair done, she went with me to a doctor’s appointment, went to the bookstore (yes, I bought a few puzzles) and then we just spent time doing nothing together at my house. I probably only put 10 pieces into this puzzle yesterday, but it doesn’t matter one bit cause I got to spend the day with my beautiful baby girl. 💖

The cut on this puzzle seems trickier than I remember Wentworth puzzles being, and there have been several times where I absolutely could not find the right piece because I thought I knew what the shape would be – it turned out to be very wrong. It’s been so much fun! I love a good challenge, and the cut is giving me a run for my money, and I haven’t even started with most of the flowers yet. Flowers are really hard for me most of the time, I’ll let you know how it goes with these flowers everywhere.

I’m looking forward to finishing this today and seeing the completed puzzle, it’s gonna be beautiful!

Downtown Freemont…In Progress…

Downtown Freemont, Las Vegas, Nevada by Susanne Kremer – Cra-Z-Art (Kodak) – 350 pieces

I’ve had a pretty terrible week, puzzle-wise. It started quite well, with a collage of musicals from stage and screen, obviously I loved that one. It began going downhill after that into a series of three different puzzles from three different brands that were disappointing, frustrating, and upsetting. I told my bestest puzzle pal that apparently I’m not supposed to actually enjoy puzzling this week. That day was a bad day and I felt the depression creeping back in.

So, after a day spent almost entirely in bed I decided I was getting back on the horse and I was going to find a puzzle here to make me happy – no matter what! Not an easy task when you’re in a black sort of mood and nothing looks good…or like fun…or the right one for the right time. I hope you have some inkling of what I mean, otherwise I’m just rambling here.

After much searching through all my new purchases, my thrift store finds, and all the puzzles on my shelves I came across this one; I have hopes that the assembly will be both entertaining and a balm for my bruised and battered puzzle mojo.

  • smaller piece count – ✔
  • bright colors – ✔
  • easy to moderate difficulty – ✔
  • relatively good brand – eh, we’ll see, this one’s hit or miss

So far this is all I’ve done, but it’s been a bad week in the pain department as well so there wasn’t much time that I was able to actually sit in front of the puzzle board and work on it. I’m about halfway done, and I’m happy as a clam that it hasn’t disappointed me yet. 🤞

Shopping Anyone?

Just a few of my Wentworth Mini Puzzles…

I normally don’t do this, but I just had to share this with you all in case you enjoy wooden puzzles and have some of your puzzle budget burning a hole in your pocket…Wentworth is having a sale!

Sales happen all the time, I know; but this sale literally made me get up out of bed as soon as I saw it to get to my computer to make a purchase. My son brought me the mail as I was resting and watching tv, and I noticed a Wentworth catalog. I was absentmindedly looking through it while continuing to watch my program when I came upon the page with Harry Potter puzzles. Many of them are quite interesting looking but they didn’t excite me that much – until I saw that they were all 70% off!

Every single Harry Potter puzzle that Wentworth makes is at this moment 70% off, while supplies last. I didn’t want to take the chance that any of them would be sold out so I hopped out of bed, grabbed my wallet and immediately went puzzle shopping. 🛒💸

Wooden jigsaw puzzles aren’t for everyone, I know, but just in case this might be for you I thought I’d let you know about the sale. I have not, nor will I receive any money for promoting them, and this post isn’t sponsored by Wentworth. This is just one excited puzzle geek letting my fellow PADS Posse members know that if they were interested in Harry Potter or wooden jigsaw puzzles – or both – that they might want to check out Wentworthpuzzles.com. In case Harry Potter isn’t your style there are also many select puzzles on sale for 10 or 20% off, there are lots to browse through.

If you aren’t interested in buying any of these puzzles, that’s okay. I bought 9 of the 14 different Harry Potter images that were available, so you’ll be seeing some of them here soon enough.🧙‍♂️

Love Stamps 2 In Progress…and Happy Father’s Day!

Love Stamps 2 by Lois B. Sutton – White Mountain – 500 pieces

It’s Father’s Day here in the United States, so I just wanted to give a shout out all the dads out there – Happy Father’s Day! My own dad has been in the hospital twice already this year and he’s almost 80, which has emphasized to me that there are a finite number of days we have left together. Even though I tell him I love him every time we see each other I wanted to take the time today to let him (and everyone out there in blog-land) know how much I love him and that I appreciate him more than he knows. I’m proud to be his daughter; he’s a wonderful man and a great dad and I love him to the moon and back. 💗🌙💗

I chose this puzzle as my next one and had already started sorting it when I finally really looked at the image on the box and saw the “Love you Dad” stamp – could it be more perfect for Father’s Day? Honestly, I didn’t pick this puzzle because of that stamp, it was just a happy little accident, as Bob Ross used to say. 🎨🖼

Literally this stamp and the border is all I have accomplished so far, but I can tell this is going to be an excellent assembly. The fit is lovely, the image reproduction is sharp and clear and it’s just fun to work with. Because today is Father’s Day this is the only stamp that was important to get finished (or nearly so) before I give myself a break to go and rest.

Dads, I hope you have a great Father’s Day today – we appreciate you! Hopefully you’ll have some time to yourself to puzzle, golf, fish, watch sports, scratch all those places that need it, or whatever it is that makes you happy. And… without moms there would be no dads, so Happy Father’s Day to all you moms out there as well. 😉

If it isn’t Father’s Day where you are – Happy Sunday my friends, and happy puzzling!
